Background:

Roran never knew what happened of his real parents, but he grew up amongst the savage barbarian tribes. He might have been an outcast if he didn't bloody the nose of anybody that tried to talk down to him. If there was one thing the savages respected it was strength, and that Roran had.

Roran still grew separate from his brothers growing up. He did not lose himself in the rage of battle like they so often did. He eventually drifted away from them, spending most of his time alone in the forest and surviving on his own.

Hunting has always been Roran's favorite thing to do. It calmed his nerves and gave him clarity. He believes the woods and everything in it are sacred, thinking a successful hunt is a gift from the gods. It was during one of these hunts that a half-elf girl by the name of Sarah saw him. He had just felled a deer, and he ran up to it with knife in hand and said "Thank you brother deer, the fruit of your flesh shall not go to waste." Then he gave it a quick death. Oddly smitten with him, Sarah approached and asked him to accompany her to her home to her coast city. Curiosity overcame his suspicion and he agreed.

The next few weeks Roran lived in and learned about civilized life. It was slow progress, but he liked this new strange way of living and Sarah was a patient teacher. She was of a noble line (which made bringing Roran in quite a fiasco) so he met any number of important people. One who he became fast friends with was Callie of house Carminos, who was also a good friend of Sarah's. She became the little sister he never had.

It didn't take long for Roran and Sarah to fall for each other. Life was good. Roran had learned to live in civilization, had friends, and was planning on starting a family soon. But one stormy night the guards summoned him and he found the body of his love with a knife in her back. For the first time in his life he felt the blind rage of his first brothers, splitting open his knuckles on the bare stone wall. Upon further investigation he found her favorite ring was gone, and after threatening several local lowlifes he was led to a merchant who had the ring. Roran wasted the next few weeks of his life searching for the man responsible in vain.

Appearance and Personality:

Roran has a powerful tall and broad build of a half-orc. He has tan skin and lanky black hair that falls to his neck. Above his stubble is a crooked nose and two hard brown eyes.

Roran has an intimidating presence but his friends know him as a friendly guy. He became a follower of Erastil after becoming educated of the gods and he holds several of Erastil's doctrines close to his heart.
