Born to a human mother, Os'dyn has no idea who his father is. If not for the elven features he possesses and the sudden talent and interest in magic as a child, Os'dyn wouldn't even have a clue as to the man's race.
His mother refused to tell the young half-elf anything of the man believing that the knowledge would only lead to her son experiencing more pain.
Growing up poor in a Varisian caravan, Os'dyn learned to work with the folk even if the other children would occasionally talk about him behind his back. It was here that he took up the art of swordplay and became skilled with the longsword. Sure, it was mainly for stage fighting, but the young man would often practice the real thing on his own after the other actors had gone home.
His travels eventually took him to Sandpoint where he met the acquaintance of a seedy man by the name of Jubrayl Vhiski who introduced the young half-elf to life on the streets in Sandpoint.
Os'dyn's mother disapproved of his contact with the man, but never outright attempted to stop her son's occasional trip to the coastal village.
It was during one of these trips that Os'dyn came back to the caravan to find his mother had died of fever. After an hour by the fire with the rest of the caravan, he stood up, without saying a word, and walked out into the night only to show up a week later in Sandpoint working as a mercenary guard for a local shop owner.
On the edge of either breaking or healing, Os'dyn struggles with the stationary lifestyle in Sandpoint and cannot wait for something... anything to happen to him.
