Background:

Kimizu has a secret name: Yáo Wukong. The Monkey's Pearl.

Kimizu has a secret. Kimizu's father is Sun Wukong, the Stone Monkey King! At least, that is what Kimizu's mother told her. She told her, too, that her real name is Yáo Wukong, but no one in the village would accept that, so Kimizu is Kimizu to the village. The village doesn't like Kimizu's father. After all, what sort of responsible man waltzes into a village, marries a young doe-eyed Vanaran Girl, gets her pregnant then leaves two days after the baby was born? To the village, Kimi's father is a no-good lout, and they see him only with scorn.

That's fine to Kimizu. She didn't want to tell them about his secret anyway. Kimi's mother, well, they see her as delusional. After she refused to remarry, even when it was obvious 'that one' wasn't coming back, she was still in love with him and rebuffed any wisdom the elders had to offer. So Kimi's mother, she is delusional and insane. Kimi doesn't like that, but her mother told her it was for the best.

But that left Kimi to be raised by EVERYONE in the village. Vanaran children are known to be a bit ... curious. After all, when you have little ones that can climb before they can even walk, who wouldn't be curious! Kimizu was just like the others in that way - full of bright innocent smiles, and wide-eyed curiosity. It wasn't that she was a trouble maker, it was just that trouble found her - constantly. The village tried everything, and Kimizu liked everything. That, perhaps, was the problem. Kimizu liked trying everything for a bit, but settled into nothing.

Though, Kimizu did find out she had a knack for the quarterstaff when she started training with the village guard. That was fun. And despite their best efforts, she just would not be trained in traditional fighting styles. But that seemed to be as much a boon to her, as a distraction to her opponents. Thus, a compromise was formed.

When Kimizu was old enough to be considered an adult, she started packing. She borrowed her favorite things from the entire village, and no one seemed to notice that they were missing. At least not before Kimizu left.

Just before she left, her mother pulled Kimizu aside. She gave the young girl a stone monkey symbol. Kimi's mother insisted that her father left it for her when he left. Kimi's eyes filled with wonder, and the monkey smiled back at her. Putting on her brightest smile, Kimmizu hugged her mother, then slipped out of the village in the darkness.

After all, she didn't want to be around when Red-Furred Ginjou realized she had taken her most favorite, and his best, shirt!

Since then, Kimizu has been wandering, finding adventure and FUN! where she could. Oh, and spreading the word of Sun Wukong - never mentioning that She, Kimizu, was the Monkey King's daughter. People would think she was lying - and she wasn't about to lie about something /THAT/ important ... or that true.

Kimizu once saved a Vanara village from stampeding, well, bouncing, leech swarms. Those were nasty. She even managed to hold off the invasion of a tree-top community from termites of unusually large size. She even, in a more serious note, helped put some wandering, vengeful ghosts to rest. Those human ghosts were pesky things. Oh, and there was this incident with a Demon... or was that a Daemon .. maybe it was a devil. It wanted to kill a lot of innocent people and that just didn't seem like something fun at the time - so Kimizu helped stop him - her - it. Not that anyone from her home village believed her. But that didn't matter to Kimizu. She knew what she had done.

And so did her father.
