About Harcos Maverick Morrison
Harcos, the meaning and pronunciation behind the name:
"Harcos" may sound/feel Hispanic to readers first, but it is in fact a Hungarian word what in ancient times was the name of a god of war (also often known as "Hadúr" which today means warlord), but for about a thousand years it means fighter/warrior.
Pronouncing it is H (like Holy) A (like Award) R (like Rider) C (like Caesar) O (like Orion) S (like Shotgun)
The Morrison family is a recent newcomer to the region. The origin of these nobles is misty and mysterious, all that is known is that the family inherited their lands here from a distant cousin branch that died out, and that the Morrisons keep wolves and foxes in high regard.
Harcos is the oldest son of Lord Morrison, but is not considered to be the heir to the family. His younger siblings are more likely to become the next head of family due to the cold and disturbing aura the never-smiling Harcos gives off. He is just not the man for diplomacy, social events, or casual conversations.
The usually silent Harcos is just as his family a great supporter and influential patron for scientists, inventors, gunsmiths, and alchemists. Unlike his father however, he doesn't make public speeches, doesn't appear to shake hands and kiss babies for images of the local newspaper the Morrisons own, and rather just sends a plain letter with his name on and cash in it.
Harcos is at best in combat situations, he uses the inventions and guns himself that he got from those the Morrisons sponsor. He wears a padded armored blue and black suit made of linen and silk and at first sight looks as heavy noble clothing with some gold decoration added.
He himself is pale and raven-haired. His hair is tied in a ponytail held together by a silver hair clip with his family crest on it. He is tall and slender and his movements are nimble, but he can't be called frail and is actually stronger than most people. While he doesn't speak much, when he does he usually says something wise, or important.
Despite his first impression what is like that of a cold killer due to his grim and cold look, and lack of otherwise emotional expression, he is not a bad person although not one to try to make the world better either. His voice is in contrast with his image and personality, as it is warm and gentle.
Harcos has two dreams he wants to fulfill, one is that that his family can raise further in ranks of nobility and increase in both numbers and wealth, and the other is his personal idea of utilizing the ideas and inventions of others to build up a nation where even without magic and purely using machines and alchemy simple people improve their welfare. He doesn't mind not being chosen as heir to the family, it is not the same as being excluded from inheritance.
Despite his ideas and patronage for inventors, Harcos is not one with a good heart, as long it seems like the best working method, he would use evil deeds or unlawful ones just as much as do lawful and good ones. His main interest is that of his family and his nation, but would be willing to use child labor and slaves to build up the steampunk utopia he dreams of.
