Despite the harrowing situation, Kyra found herself laughing and giggling like a young maiden at Kelden's return! The Dawnflower was with them and nothing could stand against their fury! Her scimitar danced as she sliced into the demon she flanked with Kelden!
• Regeneration 5 (unholy damage or evil spells)
• Resist acid 10 and fire 10
• Each hero glows with bright light that automatically dispels any 3rd-level or lower darkness effect they enter.
• Each heroes attacks are treated as good for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction, and deals +2d6 points of damage against creatures with the evil subtype.
• Once per round as an immediate action, a hero can roll 1d12 and add the result to any d20 roll he just made.
• Heroism - 50/50 minutes
Carilain manages to cut into the demon again, if only because of the wardstone residual power.
Thetin spits blood after R3 tore into him, adding to the host of injuires piling up faster than they could heal. He abandons his attempts at drawing the enemies ire as its effect seemed to be waning and his focus turned to R3. Thetin levels Radiance at R3's chest activating a smite against his target. He then twists, slamming Radiance into the demon.
He couldnt completely see all the wounds the paladin had taken... he just knew he was certainly under a flurry of blows. Despite the pain of the demons claws sinking into him, he closed his eyes in focus and called forth on his goddess to grant him mercy in healing the paladins wounds. . .
"Your friends and allies stand with you Sir Thetin, let us smite these demons and send them howling back to their foul homes."
He said as he used his shield to keep his foes at bay as he stepped forward enough to touch the paladin and transfer the healing energies into him before spinning to keep the threat he was there on the foe between himself and Kyra.
Alorah's smile erupts into laughter as once again al three of the demon's strikes connect, only to cause minimal harm which immediately begins to heal. Shifting her weight, the sorceress brings her mace up in in a wicked uppercut swing to the fiend's jaw.

In a place that is no place (you can't seem to concentrate enough to see where you are), a scarred but beautiful woman dressed in plate armor is before you. Looking upon you, she smiles; and you know it is good.
She thanks you for your kindness and service, then apologizes for the fact that she cannot help you in the future.
Yet, she can grant you a token of her gratitude, and kisses you on the brow.
Each of you loses the temporary template.
Each of you gains:
*A permanent +2 devotional bonus to a skill of your choice.
*Five permanent hit points.
*A permanent bonus feat of your choice (you must qualify as normal for the feat’s
prerequisites).
*A permanent +2 increase to an ability score of your choice.
*Character Level 6!
Slowly, you recover your senses in the empty chamber.
As you sit up and look around, you see nothing left of your enemies but their clothing, equipment and a little blackened outline on the floor. Of the adamantine cage, there remain a few unrecognizable melted blobs where the bars were.
Poking through the clothing, you find:
You each also find small fragments of the exploded wardstone shard embedded in the walls. A thin fingernail sized flake of bright smooth stone, you can feel the holy energies still infused in it.
Bending to pick up one of the pulsing fragments, Alorah instinctively ribs the sliver of stone along her crossbow, whispering a prayer to Desna as she does. "Well that was...inspiring." she says in a slightly stunned tone before the realization hits her as she turns to stare at Kelden in open shock. "How?"
You hear the pounding of footsteps up the stairway, and you see Commander Irabeth charge into the Wardstone Chamber, followed by a dozen soldiers.
"Are you all..." She started, but stopped as they all looked at you with jaws agape.

With the threat of the demons over and the powerful visage over, Kyra suddenly drops her scimitar and runs over to Kelden. She wraps her arms around him in a bear hug. Before he can say a word, she grabs his face in her bloody hands and stares into his eyes for a moment, then abruptly kisses him on the lips as tears stream down her dirty face. She buries her face in his shoulder and cries. "I thought I'd lost you!"
She breaks off the embrace at the sound of rushing footsteps and draws her back-up scimitar, ready for another fight. She begins laughing when she spots Irabeth and soldiers. "We did it!"
Kyra's falling scimitar hit the floor as if in slow motion. When it struck the floor, also touching a fragment of the broken wardstone, it flared in a blinding burst of green white light.
As you blink your eyes to clear them, you see an unusual glowing pattern on the sword; it faded slowly as you watched.

He was about to answer miss Alorah when his sister in faith moved forward pulling him into an embrace and then... a kiss. For a moment he wasnt sure if the bright flashing light was from something else, or the fact that the pretty half elven woman kissed him. It took a moment for him to realize it was something other than the latter.
He looked downward and short of half blushed. the clear rent in his scale male where it was clear something large and well deadly had cleaved through. the reddish stain that had been there... He was silent for a moment as he fingered through his scale mail and touched where the axe had ...ended his life. He tried to reach behind himself wondering if there was a mark of any kind where the axe had entered him frowning.
"It was not time yet for me to bask in the glory of Sarenrae."
He said simply enough, not clearly understanding his good fortune but also no questioning it. Even though Kyra had once more moved to rearm herself, he recognized Commander Irabeth so instead turned to her this time being the one to initiate the hug and then the kiss... the deep soul searching and life affirming kiss. He would not fall again.
Watching the exchange, Alorah's expressing shift to an amused smile. "The battle was very intense." she says to the stunned Irabeth, stepping forward to give her companions a moment.
Kelden's scale mail has clearly been subjected to incredible violence; scales bent in half or even broken, all covered in copious blood, and the leather backing torn off completely. His Mail shirt ends at his ribcage, leaving his midriff bare.
Where you would expect a horrible wound, or even a thin scar, there is nothing but unmarred skin.
"You did it! You did it!" Irabeth crowed as the soldiers crowded around you, pounding your backs and shaking your hands.
"Come outside and see!" She exclaimed.
Part carried and part dragged, the soldiers rush you downstairs and out through the Citadel's main entrance. There on the wide street you see no movement but the smoke from distant fires.
And in the distance, the sounds of wild cheering.
"Do you see that? Nothing? That's right! No Demons!
"Whatever you did up there, the demons shrieked in terror and fled! Some even exploded! We've won! WE'VE WON!"
Here ends the First Chapter in the saga of the Heroes of the Wrath of the Righteous!
Their story is continued in Chapter Two: THE SWORD OF VALOR!

Kyra turns to stare at her blade as she clears her vision. "What the..."
Kyra suddenly gasps as Kelden spins her around and before she could say another word, suddenly his lips were upon hers and all the ugliness of the world around them disappeared. For a brief moment she was nothing more than a simple maiden from Sothis sharing a kiss with a handsome young man... and yet there was more to it then just that. She let herself get washed away into the passion of Kelden's fierce kiss.
Just as suddenly as the moment came, it was gone as Irabeth and her soldiers were shouting and cheering wildly. She parts from Kelden with a wink and rosy cheeks; she pats his cheek and steps over to retrieve her blade and stares at it in wonderment...
