Kineticist Playtest Ending Soon

Friday, August 19, 2021

The Kineticist Class Playtest ends on September 5th, which means there’s just a few weeks left to test out the kineticist at your tables and let us know what you think! Not sure where to go to participate in the playtest? Check the links below!

  • Kineticist Class Playtest: Here’s where you can read up on the playtest version of the kineticist class.
  • Class Survey: Use this survey to tell us what you think of the class.
  • Open Response Survey: If there’s anything you want to say that doesn’t come up in the class survey, you can give longer form feedback here.

While the surveys are the main way we collect feedback, you can also talk about your playtest experiences with other members of the community on the Kineticist Playtest forum, which we’re taking a close look through as the playtest continues.

If you’ve already built characters, sent in your surveys, made videos or posts going over the playtest, or contributed to the discussion wherever you like to talk about tabletops: thank you! We’re committed to taking everyone’s feedback in mind to make the final version of the kineticist the best they can be, so get your comments in on time!

So awesome that we keep getting these great new classes. I'm sure the Kineticist would be so much fun to play if I could get a group together and test. Just glad to see Pathfinder 2e is full of so much content, the art has such a charm to it instead of just "good fantasy art".

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys and your humble bundles and all you do. I just reupped my subscription to three different lines because of how useful, fun and immersive this game and its lore is. I just converted over from 5e after leaving PF1 (begrudgingly). I should have been with PF2 from the start. I was fooled.

Best of luck, and keep those APs coming!

Playtest so short and there's no PFS games in my area this month!

Good to have some free Kinecticist playtestin' for PF2e out there, folks at Paizo. ;)

I was really keen to read and playtest the new class, but the lack of developer clarification on how certain things work... certainly reduced my excitement to playtest or enable it :(.

At least from my point of view, some more developer feedback in the forum would be quite welcome.

What needs to be clarified?

I just wanted to thank the developers for giving us a really interesting playtest with some very different mechanics to play with. I am sure there are lots of things to consider and choices to be made about what the final class will be, but I don't think anyone was expecting the options you gave us to test out when they were imagining the Kineticist and it was a very inventive design that is trying out some new mechanical spaces.

I look forward to continuing to participate in PF2 Playtesting as you all continue to push the game outwards without blowing it up.

Unfortunately the method by which I play never facilitates getting any actual-play playtesting in, but it's definitely been interesting lurking around the playtest forum and reading the discussions.

An untimely eviction and my potential GM falling through mean I didn't get to playtest, but I still filled out the survey with my thoughts. Excited to see the final class - and I hope the next time we do this, it's for the Inquisitor and Shaman :p

When will the "final thoughts" be from the design team?

Not sure if it’s worth anything, but the Dark Archive post-playtest blog came three weeks after that playtest ended.

We will post a blog from the design team sharing a few of their post-playtest thoughts when they are ready. But the "final" thoughts will come in the form of the Rage of Elements rulebook next year.
