Huzzah subscriptions!

I've heard of owlbears before, but I didn't know of moosebears . . . .

I would love to be a subscriber, and once was, but due to the crazy international shipping rates, I now just do PDFs.

Still hoping that one day Paizo offers PDF subscriptions.

Yep sign me up for pdf subscriptions if it ever becomes a thing. Until then happy to wait and see how the product turns out then consider picking up PDF's. Any kind of integration of PDF's into Foundry would be particularly interesting to me as well. Happy to pay if it's well integrated into foundry for maps and/or tokens.

I was a subscriber for a long time but then the pandemic hit. Our FLGS needs all of us helping them and subscriptions w/ Paizo does none of that.

Paizo says they support FLGS but this isn’t supporting them. Why not run this program inviting us to subscribe through our FLGS? Give them the support, give them the discount and give us a way to still get PDFs w/ a code for subscribing through out FLGS.

More and more developers are already giving PDFs through codes inserted in the products that we can buy from our FLGS …. Step up and be the leader you should be.

Probably cause that's not viable for Paizo to do so, they sell the FLGS the books at even more of discount and give out free PDFS mean they don't make money, which they need to in order to stay in business themselves.

As for barcodes, too much of a theft hazard.

"Step up and be the leader you should be" aka "go out of business selling at a loss and giving things away for free" is not the moralizing statement you think it is.

I can mostly confirm this: back when I was working at a FLGS, I believe we paid 70% of the retail price for our stock. That missing 30% Paizo doesn't get from a FLGS that they do on a subscription is about the price of an PDF nowadays.

That said, if they were able to provide some way to charge the FLGS for a PDF to provide with them, perhaps the store could bundle the two for the physical retail price, perhaps requiring in store pickup. Paizo would get subscription-like money and the store would bring customers in, perhaps getting a few more items along the way.

I do not, however, know if the distributors would frown upon effective discounts on the books -- I did not deal with them in my role, and I don't know all the terms we were working under.
