Pathfinder Society's Gen Con 2019 Scenarios
It’s nearly August 1st, and that means we’re about a week away from launching the Second Edition of Pathfinder in all its glory. What better way to do that than with some great adventures? Today we’re previewing not only the final scenario for the First Edition campaign, but also the wealth of new Second Edition content kicking off the Year of the Open Road!
You'd Better Believe It!
Over the course of Pathfinder's over 10-year history, adventurers have trekked all over the globe, pulling back the veil on distant continents and lesser known cultures in the Inner Sea. As stories of these travels filtered back and spread across northern Garund and Avistan, tales of foreign gods came with them, piquing the interest of religious scholars. Now, with PathfinderCampaign Setting: Faiths of Golarion, we're offering up the details of some of these faiths, with a few hotly anticipated divinities and notes from their authors:
Take the Plunge!
Let me guess, another adventurer scared of getting a bit wet are we? Beneath the sea there's another world waiting for those brave enough to challenge the depths. And you're not wrong, it can be scary down there if you're not prepared. Unlike any other terrain on the face of Golarion, venturing underwater constantly reminds you that you're as out of place as the proverbial fish out of water. Krakens, lusca, and worse swim circles around you while you're still worrying about little things like breathing. Looking for a bit of help? Well, you've come to the right place!
Blighted Beginnings—Writing is a Sensory Experience
Last year I competed in the Paizo's RPG Superstar contest, and earlier this week I saw my complete winning adventure. It was humbling to see my first design work become reality. Roleplaying games are an integral part of my daily and family life. I play Pathfinder at least once a week, sometimes with friends, my children, complete strangers—I love to game! I love the social aspects of gathering around a table to share in the group storytelling experience. We explore, we laugh, we fight, we are a party, and we are together. As gamers we experience things outside our everyday lives, see places that exist in our collective imaginations. We get to be "not ourselves."
You Have Found a Shop
Wait, wait! Where are you going?! I said I could sell your pretty-pretty here, not that I couldn't sell it. Goodness, but are all adventurers so defeatist? The sign on the door does say "All wares bought and sold," after all. I wouldn't want you to think I'm a crook. I have friends on many foreign shores who love their pretty things. I have just the ship and captain to slip it out of town—both are very quiet and very well-formed. We could smuggle you out along with it, perhaps? I understand how you sellsword types love your violent ends, but perhaps you'd like to postpone yours a bit. We'll find you a whole new life in some other greasy underbelly, and get you back to stabbing and stealing as soon as you like.
Down On Your Luck, Friend?
I know your sob story. It’s written on your face, same as everyone else’s. The world just rolled over and dumped you on your butt. Know you don’t know how to get a roof and three squares without a coin in your pocket, and don’t know how to put coin in your pocket without a good night’s sleep and a full belly.
