In previous blogs, we've talked about some of the lore and game content in Pathfinder RPG Planar Adventures, but since so many people have the book in their hands already and the forums are abuzz of what folks are discovering within, for this blog I wanted to show off some of the art.

There is more to the universe than where most adventurers tread. Beyond the Material Plane lies countless worlds and near infinite planes of reality, where a countless variety of beings play out their lives, many indebted to the cosmic forces of their home plane.

In Pathfinder Adventure Path #76: The Midnight Isles, the PCs travel to the Abyss in their quest to heal the scar on Golarion known as the Worldwound. Though the PCs only dip their toe into the churning planar muck that is the Abyss, two articles appear in this volume to give readers more Abyssal material on which to chew. Unlike a nearly infinite plane, the pages in a volume of an Adventure Path are certainly finite, but Mike Shel does a stellar job filling the gazetteer of the Abyss to the brim. James Jacobs provides the other gazetteer shining starlight down on the Midnight Isles—in particular Alushinyrra, the Porphyry City and home to Nocticula. It's rarely a good idea to go to the Abyss, but saving the world is a hard job. After all, it's better to go there on your own terms than end up in the Abyss as a larva.

Here at Paizo, the end of convention season can seem like a holiday, enough so that it calls for a new holiday blog. The anniversary of Iomedae's successful venture into the Starstone Cathedral was only yesterday, and given the goddess's key role in the Mendevian Crusade that is so central both to Pathfinder Society Organized Play's Year of the Demon and the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path, it seems particularly appropriate to honor the Inheritor today.
