Risks & Rewards: Red Line Overload

Let’s all take some deep breaths, pause for a moment to let our hearts stop racing, and discover what kind of treasures have been left behind now that the playtest has ended! There’s been some great feedback, and as of the writing of this blog, we are just beginning the process of digging into it and determining what changes we’ll implement to make the daredevil and the slayer really shine. That being said, we’ve been paying attention to the community’s impressions since the start of the playtest, and there are a couple of things we’re sure need to change.

First, let’s take a look at the daredevil. We’ve heard the concerns about the daredevil’s survivability, so we are going to increase their Hit Points to 10, so you can get in that ogre’s face and not worry… too much… about getting disemboweled by their ogre hook. And speaking of larger creatures, we’re taking a look at ways that Small and smaller daredevils can be effective against them!

With the slayer, we’re happy to report that On the Hunt was as effective as we’d hoped against weaker enemies, but we’ll be expanding its trigger conditions to be more reliable against higher-level foes. And in that same vein, we’ll also be improving the effectiveness of the signature tools that you let us know were underperforming to make sure they truly live up to that name!

Of course, these aren’t the only changes we’ll be making to the two classes. We have a few months of development to go, so we’ve got time to polish these mechanics until they gleam!

As for the rest of the book these classes will be appearing in… Well, we still can’t give you more information about it yet, but let’s just say that it’s one you’ll really enjoy delving into!
