4000 Years in the Making

The city of Absalom is one of the oldest and most diverse cities in Golarion. Known as "The City at the Center of the World," it’s renowned for its enormous size and influence throughout the world.

Absalom boasts some of the finest—and oldest—buildings and monuments on the Inner Sea. Over the nearly 5 millennia since Aroden founded the city, Absalom has been built, rebuilt, and rebuilt again, resulting in a tapestry of architectural styles as diverse as the countless citizens and visitors who throng its streets and markets. Immigrants from every corner of Golarion can be found within the city’s walls, alongside their architecture, artwork, and customs.

Bringing With It Iconic City Life

Absalom is also known as the "Patchwork City" due to its many architectural styles mashed together over the years. It was a challenge for our art director, Tomasz Badalski, to find a compromise between all the clashing art styles.

I have spent a while looking for the most appropriate art style for Absalom and came up with way too many widely differing ideas. I have decided to find something mostly "townish" but add a little detail that will clearly tell it apart from other cities, which is why you will find Aroden’s emblem on every door and pin. For the architectural style, I went with Tudor as a base. I think it all came together really well.

What’s in the Box

The city of Absalom comes with plenty of walls, floors, and, of course, fully functioning doors. It’s more than enough to build two large rooms, for example. To make it easier to personalize your structures, over 40 props are included in the set. You will find metal chests, books, scrolls, barrels, candles, and lamps. If you need to take cover, columns are also included in the set.

The first pre-order link at the bottom refers back to this page.

If this were painted I'd be very tempted, but I have enough things to paint as it is. Still, I hope this is successful enough for the line to continue.

Oh, are these not pre-painted? That makes me feel really uncomfortable that all the pictures show it painted if that's the case. Too bad, because it looks great.

Thanks, we will get that corrected.

The link from the first picture gives an XML error instead of an enlarged picture.

It would be really preferable if these images actually clarified that these do not come pre-painted.

In fact, the fact that the post itself doe snot clarify that these do not come pre-painted at all while displaying *only* images of it painted is really rather misleading, deeply unfortunate and off-putting.

Which is a shame! As these look fantastic!

Yup, extremely misleading to not mention/show the unpainted nature of these.

We'll give feedback to the partner about the painted vs unpainted communincation.

The product page does state "The terrain comes unpainted and unassembled." at the bottom of the "Box Contains:" section...

Then maybe they could have at least one picture of it unpainted. At minimum. Somewhere. Preferably multiple. Instead of only that mention as the last line of the product description. Oh and also mentioning that in this blog post. Otherwise I feel like I'm being sold on what it could be if I both got into mini painting and became good at it, not on what the product actually is.
