Prepare for Free RPG Day 2022!

Paizo is excited to once again be participating in Free RPG Day at hobby game stores around the world. Participating stores will have piles of exclusive new RPG adventures and other exciting brand-new RPG related items!

Free RPG Day 2022
June 25th – North America
July 23rd – Worldwide (outside of North America)

We have two new short adventures with pregenerated characters that are perfect for new players and veterans alike!


Pathfinder Adventure: A Fistful of Flowers

BLOOM AND DOOM!

When a stuffy noblewoman decides leshys make for pretty centerpieces for her fancy tea party, she has no idea what sort of trouble she’s stirring up. Not every plant in the forest wants to be put on display and some of them are more than well-equipped to fight for those who are plucked from their homes!

In A Fistful of Flowers, you take on the role of one of four unique leshys—plants who have been granted sapience and wills of their own. When new sproutlings are snatched out of the woods and taken away to civilization, it’s up to your band of furious flowers and pugilistic plants to set things right!

A Fistful of Flowers is a short adventure for 3rd-level characters that takes a band of leshy heroes out of the forest and into the most dangerous of locations—an aristocrat’s fancy tea party. In addition, the four pregenerated characters provide a quick way to jump into the adventure right away in this exciting offering for Free RPG Day! Grab some dice and friends and play the role of the forest’s newest heroes!

ANGELS & DEMONS

When an unprecedented cosmic storm engulfs a world of peaceful scientists, the inhabitants are transformed by planar energies to become either the best or worst versions of themselves. The crew of Nakonechkin Salvage are the only ones close enough to stop an army of demons besieging the capital city, but this mission is personal: one of their own was planetside when the storm hit!

In addition to a rollicking adventure, this book includes four pregenerated characters that are ready to play, with full stat blocks and backstories. The inside front cover includes all the maps needed for this adventure.

Skitter Warp is written for the popular Starfinder Roleplaying Game. It’s intended for 5th-level characters who are ready to lend some helping hands to friends in crisis!

Copies will also be for sale and free PDF download at paizo.com approximately 30 days after the event.

My very new FLGS has missed on the product for his year, sadly it was all gone before he was in a position to order. Will these be released 30 days after the US or Worldwide Free RPG Day? I'm Worldwide and would like to run in store as close as possible to the date.

30 Days after the North America. Look for them here around July 23rd.

Our contract with Free RGS Day prevents us from releasing the PDF early. This event is all about retail stores. We encourage GMs who want to create a better player experience to go into the store and ask for early copies to more fully prep for the event. Use the event to build relationships.

These both look great! Sadly will have to wait the extra 30 days to get them, the meatspace crisis ate my LGS, RIP Game Depot Tempe.

Thanks didn't know about that store looks nice I just bookmarked their web page. I'll have to stop by when it cools down, it's a bit far for not having AC in the car.

3PM Fistful of Flowers has been cancelled due to the GM having to bow out. A Pathfinder 2e Adventure will be run after the Starfinder Skitter Warp Adventure.

Normally I make the rounds at the game stores for Free RPG Day buying stuff and picking up some Free RPG Day items. But this year I decided to volunteer to run a Free RPG game session in the store.

The store was kind enough to let me take home a selection of three adventures in advance to prep and I planned to run whichever one the players chose. That choice ended up being a Fistful of Flowers for Pathfinder 2E and we ran it through to completion in about 4 hours.

One player started off with two PCs, Bottlespeaker and Rings, and got to Petalbrook where he was joined by a second newly arrived player who ran Popcorn and Fluff Fang.

Spoilers for the Adventure:

After finding the store and capturing the alchemist they proceeded to the Lady's manor where they confronted her and her guests and began freeing the leshies. The fight with the other leshies was pretty even early on but the PCs were fighting in a tight core in the center of the tables and concentrated their attacks on the mint leshy while the opposing leshies were forced to distribute their attacks among several opponents as they surrounded the PCs as best they could.

When the mint leshy went down the verdant burst healed all the PCs but the opposing leshies didn't gain any benefit. The PCs proceeded to free all the leshies and make their escape, taking down one more opposing leshy in the process. I think it was the wisteria leshy.

Players had a good time and I might try this again next year.

I just drove by where Game Depot was and saw the sign replaced with "Athoria Games" looks like they will be opening up this fall!
