Join us for Paizo LIVE!

Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Gloriously geeky talk is in the air! Join us for the premiere episode of Paizo LIVE from 4 to 6 p.m. Pacific on Friday, February 26. Paizo LIVE is our new monthly two-hour live Twitch show featuring the Paizo staff and occasional guests talking about all things Pathfinder and Starfinder. Of course, Paizo LIVE will also be archived on YouTube for easy viewing.

We have several exciting Paizo-produced live-play shows scheduled for 2021, so this show is for news and interviews. With over 160 products coming to you in 2021, and dozens of licensed Paizo partners offering their own products, we have a lot to talk about! From Rulebooks to Organized Play to Adventure Paths, and World Guides, we will focus on the abundance that Pathfinder and Starfinder bring to your table—with a little time for Q&A too! From beginners to veterans, from homebrewers to setting fans, and everyone in between, we aim to give you the big picture, get you up to speed, and ready to roll.

This month we will be looking at Pathfinder and Starfinder through the lens of our product lines:

Attentive readers will note that this leaves out the Pathfinder Adventures line, including Malevolence, and our many maps and accessories. There is only so much we can fit into two hours, so we will rotate topics next month.

We want your input too. This time we will take your questions before the show and answer them live. Once again, the categories are Pathfinder Rulebooks, Pathfinder Adventures, Lost Omen World Guides, Starfinder Rulebooks, Starfinder Adventures, and Paizo Organized Play. Keep in mind, this is your place to ask your big burning questions of the Paizo Staff, rather than request fine details, and rules questions are best for the Community Forums where our teams can address them collectively. Ask your questions here or comment on our social media posts and we’ll pick our favorites.

I’ll see you at Paizo LIVE!

Adventures Ahead!

Isn't exploration guide's cover also a placeholder though? That is one of pictures from core book timeline page right? :O

With the G&G wrap-up blog up as well, would there be room to ask any follow-up questions during the Q&A?

We will talk about cover art as part of the show. We will clarify which covers are mock ups and such, direct from the staff. I noticed Starfinder Tech Revolution was not included yet. I’m already working on my list for next month’s show!

Go ahead and ask! Will probably prioritize questions about products that are coming sooner, but I’ll keep a list of the best questions. Probably not that interested in “did you fix this one particular thing I’m obsessed about” questions. Think about asking broad, open-ended questions. ;)

Character Operations Manual has also witchwarped into a parallel reality, it seems. Excited for this!

Since I'll likely catch it non-live via youtube, I'd like to get my Q&A question in now:

Since the release of 2E, there has been a fair amount of message board discussion on the lethality/difficulty of the 2E APs, especially for groups new to the game and/or casual play groups. I've experience this in my own casual play group. Can you talk about the design philosophy behind the intended difficulty of the APs?

Thanks!

You should absolutely get your questions in now. In the first episode, perhaps longer, we will only be taking presubmitted questions. Good one.

My questions that burn the most are:
1. Do you plan to ever remove Pathfinder 1E from Organized Play?
2. Do you foresee at any point in the future when Starfinder will get a 2nd Edition?
3. Where did that fireball come from?

Oh, also, can we maybe have a 2E/5E conversion guide someday?

Ok, I have one more. What did your previous works do wrong? Were they unruly?

I got some questions!

1. Are there going to be any futuristic tech in Guns and Gears, like what could be found in the PF1 Technology Guide?

2. Have you heard about the Starfinder 2E fan conversion of Starfinder setting to PF2 rules? What do you think?

3. Any new spoilers about Secrets of Magic?

4. Can you comment on Hero Lab's recent inability to stay current with Paizo releases? It's been a real headache.

Seeing as how Pathfinder and Starfinder are set in the same universe at different timelines, have you been looking into converting some concepts and ideas introduced in Starfinder for use into Pathfinder's Lost Omens setting such as the Vanguard, Solarion, Witchwarper, Precog classes or the gods, monsters, or aliens we can only find in Starfinder so far?

So many hidden hands. Thanks!

Aaron -- From the way you described the "hidden hands" in the podcast, I can't help picturing a bunch of cultists in concealing robes conducting arcane rituals to keep everything going. The only time they inadvertently showed their humanity was when they looked up the procedure for restoring Linda's video and one of them exclaimed, "We have to sacrifice WHAT?" and they all then reluctantly but unanimously gave up on that part.

There was a nice juicy spoiler about Geomancy and Flexible Preparation. See the Secrets of Magic product page discussion for details.

Ha! Um. I may or may not have just added Tech Boy and Media from American Gods to our pantheon... ;)

Is the plan still to upload to youtube? I've been keeping an eye on the Paizo channel but haven't seen it pop up yet.

It has been there since March 5.
