Find the Path Presents Hell’s Rebels

Friday, November 20, 2020

Find the Path, a Paizo official partner, is excited to announce a new Pathfinder Second Edition actual play podcast! On January 6th, 2021, we will be launching a brand new actual play podcast of a conversion of Paizo’s Hell’s Rebels Adventure Path. This actual play will be available wherever you get your podcasts, and will release bi-weekly on Wednesdays.

What is Hell’s Rebels?

Hell’s Rebels is a six part adventure path that takes players into the tumultuous city of Kintargo, where someone needs to take a stand against an unjust government. Given the current state of affairs, we thought that everyone could use a little escapism into a world where a few courageous heroes change the fate of the world for the better. The tone of this story is triumphant and cheerful, in stark contrast to our Patreon-exclusive Tyrant’s Grasp podcast which serves up bi-weekly survival horror.

To quote from the back of the adventure:

The city of Kintargo has a new lord-mayor, but he's not someone interested in maintaining that city's free spirit. Paracount Barzillai Thrune has placed the city under martial law, and his cruel proclamations and sinister plans for the city bode ill. Can a small group of heroes and would-be rebels stand against the might of the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune and the Church of Asmodeus and save their home town from being crushed under the boot of an infernal tyrant? Will one of Cheliax's most powerful inquisitors make the city his playground, or can the rebels known as the Silver Ravens rise up to bring a new era of freedom to the so-called Silver City of Kintargo? Join the rebellion! Save Kintargo! DOWN WITH THRUNE!

Rick Sandidge has converted Hell’s Rebels from Pathfinder First Edition to Second Edition, and will be gamemastering this audio adventure. He even converted the original campaign traits to Second Edition backgrounds for the players to use. Rick has many years of experience GMing, and will continue the tradition of masterful storytelling on the Find the Path. While the podcast will be free for everyone to listen to, Rick’s conversion notes and other goodies will be available to Patreon supporters. More details to come!

Who is playing in Hell’s Rebels?

We will have five players on the show: Heather Allen, Jessica Peters, Jordan Jenkins, Rachel Sandidge, and Ross Scoggin. No surprises here. We’ve kept the same personalities and chemistry that we’re known for and haven’t added any new cast members.

Heather is playing Cesare Nightbloom, an ex-Asmodean elven wizard with an adorable black cat familiar and a real arcane bent.

Jessica is playing Adria Sylla, a half-elven artisan Storm Order druid with a sordid past and an empty nest.

Jordan is playing Lucia Sarini, a human child of Kintargo swashbuckler with a flair for the theatrical!

Rachel is playing Vittoria Scordado, a half-elven urban sleuth investigator with an eye for details and a drive to do good.

Ross is playing Niccolo Aita, a tiefling (human) natural born leader rogue with a penchant for union organization.

Huzzah!

A party with two rogue-oids? Interesting -- let's see how it works out. (Although if this has been forward-ported to 2nd Edition rules, then my idea of balance might be off.)

There is "2nd edition" on the banner. And Rogues are great in PF2.

And both Investigators and Swashbucklers are very different in PF2 than PF1. And yeah, in PF2 it's a very balanced party if a bit skewed toward Narrative control characters. I guess it depends on how much "politics" there is in that AP.

We're looking forward to seeing how it shakes out.

So very excited for this! The gang knocks the political maneuvering out of the park over in their Mummy's Mask show ("There are no secrets in Tephu!"), so I can't wait to see what they cook up for this city-based adventure.

Oh it's gonna be a romp, for sure!

2 people marked this as a favorite.

This makes me want to run Hell's Rebels again but in 2e. Maybe I'll give this a listen.

Ah, no healer class in the party eh? Wishing them luck!

There is a Druid and an active healer class is not as critical 2E.

I listen to their Tyrant's Grasp & Mummy's Mask campaigns religiously, I was bummed when Ross's GMing stopped. Looking forward to this very much!

Finally got to read this Investigator guide, and Shared Stratagem (and eventually Didactic Strike, but that comes really late) really synergizes with a Rogue ally.

Oh yeah, if the rogue has trouble setting flank or other way to flat-foot.. Having no heavy martial might make it harder in this case, depending on the investigator build, yeah.

(Investigator is now pretty much a martial character though in PF2, but yeah, if they are ranged that would be a great feat to take to help the rogue. The swash might be hard to flank with depending on the build, some swash tends to move a lot.
