Hellooo! With this week's Crown of Fangs preview I decided to try and trigger as many of your arachnid responses as I possibly could. If you don't like alien creatures that need to be purged with fire, I'd skip this week.

With that out of the way, I'd like to introduce you to the Dream Spider. These lovely abominations secrete a venom that causes hallucinations, up until they eat you. The Dream Spider is a small common figure in this set, and can be used for all of your nightmare inducing needs.

Speaking of nightmares, next we have the Giant Spider. Just your standard, run of the mill, killing machine with an exoskeleton. Whenever I look at this miniature I have flash backs to the Lord of the Rings with Frodo creeping through Cirith Ungol. The Giant Spider is a medium common figure.

I would say I saved the best for last, but I guess that is only if you like the Fallout series. Here, we have the Giant Scorpion. It can grab and constrict two of your players while stinging a third. All in good fun, of course. Wizkids knocked it out of the park with this guy. I "love" the texturing of the carapace and the hunting stance they set it in. The Giant Scorpion is a large uncommon figure.

In other Pathfinder Battles news, if you like painting your own miniatures, then you should check out Deep Cuts. These plastic unpainted miniatures release this spring and are now available for preorder here on paizo.com!

Until next week!

After every set I tell myself I dont really need anymore prepainted plastic. Then the previews for the next set go up and Im ordering a case. These guys dont really fill any holes in my collection but boy do they look nice. Well Im off to my local shop to preorder.....sigh....

Dark Archive

Wow, Mike!
This is probably the earliest preview ever (2 hours 35 minutes ago)!

I called the small (Dream-)Spider, but boy, the clear plastic web it sits in is something new!
Also the colors are great, at uncommon there should be 4-5 in a case - perfect!

We already had a medium spider in the very first Pathfinder Battles set Giant Spider, but that was years ago, it is sold out and the new one is taken straight from the pages of the CotCT hardcover. With its yellow body, it is also different enough from all the other spiders released so far. Again at common rarity 4-5 are in a case.

The Giant Scorpion is a surprise! To my knowledge it is the first mini not appearing in the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path.
But i like it´s addition, as it looks almost exactly like the art on page 242 of the Bestiary and may be able to actually "grab" a medium or small mini in it´s pincers. Another low CR staple monster which hasn´t been done in PFB. 3 or 4 will be in a case, which sounds right.

Thanks and have a nice weekend!

Marco the Dream spider is a small common not an uncommon although by the numbers I suspect you just mistyped.

I really like that scorpion, great texture and colour. Pose is fine - it's a scorpion after all. Rarity is spot on. I have quite a few from the old D&D line, the black and red ones, but this will be a much better alternative I think, and I really like the old one.

The giant spider is very nice and suitably different to the one in H&M. The post makes it kind of look like its ready to launch itself at you - not a pleasant thought at all.

The dream spider I'm a bit divided on. Its small, so the first of its size, which is a HUGE bonus, and its pose, colour and rarity are spot on. It's the we its sitting on, if its really transparent as it appears there it should be fine however often wizkids have a habit "shading" these things and at that size it may well end a formless white wall. It does look like it could come off the web to rebase and repose flat, so that again is a big plus.

Cntinues to look like a solid set

It's kind of lightly spoilery to be sitting here in an unrelated product thread, throwing out what is and isn't in CotCT when the set of minis hasn't been announced to be CotCT-centric despite looking very much so. That said... page 464, Cinderland Encounters. Just roll enough random encounters and poof, it's included! <Grin>

Actually Michael are you able to tell us whether the dream spider can be detached from the web or not? Perhaps too soon at the render stage?

awwwww!

*cuddles*

Well it is named after a location in CotCT and a lot of its minis are from it. So I think that it's fair to say that this set is CotCT centric.

Dark Archive

The set is named the same as book 6 of Curse of the Crimson Throne.

Every mini revealed so far (17 of 44) COULD appear somewhere in the AP. ;-)

It was a common of which I got 1 (one!) in a case, so no wonder it sold out.

Good to see we get more spidery stuff, and well done for not using the art in the bestiaries (1-4).

I hope they go easy on the glue with the dream spider, it would be nice if we can put that flat on the table.

Slightly off topic here, but I'm hoping someone from Paizo might be able to answer this.

I have noticed that the Kobold Devilspeaker and Bugbear Lurker (Wikkawak) which were GenCon 2016 promos have not been added to the Promotional Miniatures store area. (http://paizo.com/pathfinderbattles/singles/promos)

Could you please advise if there are there any plans to still add these, or are there none left?

(These are the first 2 minis that appear on the Special Release Miniatures, PathfinderMinis.com gallery: http://www.pathfinderminis.com/gallery0.htm)

A (large) giant Mantis would be great!

Dark Archive

I now think these are the missing large miniatures:

UNCOMMON
1 Leukodaemon
2 Belker
3 Cytillipede
4 Minotaur Skeleton
5 Crocodile

RARE
1 Horned Devil
2 Belier Devil
3 Ash Giant

Thrilled to finally have a Small spider! And spiders of any size are ALWAYS in high demand, so as a reseller, I couldn't be happier to have 2 new ones. The scorpion will do well too, I'm confident.

Here are pictures of the "CROWN OF FANGS" boosters and the "Court of the Crimson Throne Premium Figure" package from New York Toy Fair:

Crown of Fangs

They are in the 5th row, pictures #3 & #4 (31/93 and 32/93).

Although the text says "Packaging not final", it seems pretty final to me.
It also confirms the may 2017 release date.

The booster art shows the picture from page 14 of the Core Rulebook, which depicts:

:
a Skeletal Knight on a Skeletal Horse

This creature will almost certainly be in the set (it is in the CotCT AP).

I can also see "Queen Illeosa" on the side of the booster and a large flying creature with wings on a clear post which is hard to make out, but could be a

:
Leukodaemon

Cheers

Note to self: Order a few extras of the spiders. One of my players is afraid of spiders IRL and I expect him to freak out if and when I pull out any of those bad boys.

(cue evil laugh)
