Starfinder Society Year 5 Rule Updates

Greetings, Starfinders! The launch of the Year of Redemption’s Rise is less than a month away, and we hope you’re all excited. Jessica and I are here today to talk about some of the new rule changes taking effect on May 27th, when Year 5 launches at PaizoCon. Our transition to Achievement Points last year was a big shift, so this year we’re keeping things simple.
Starfinder Society Faction Preview: The Manifold Host

Last month, we announced Starfinder Society Year 5: Year of Redemption’s Rise. While that previous blog post offered tons of information on the year itself, today we focus on a previously-established minor faction you can expect to see step up in the Year of Redemption’s Rise: the Manifold Host! For more information on our two new minor factions, the Advocates and the Cognates, check out Starfinder Society Faction Preview: The Advocates and Starfinder Society Faction Preview: The Cognates.
Pathfinder Society Factions Preview: Grand Archive and Vigilant Seal
In May, we introduced the concept of major and minor factions, as well as introduced the first of our new factions for the Second Edition campaign: the Horizon Hunters and Radiant Oath. Then at PaizoCon (and in a follow-up blog) we shared two more factions, including the Envoys’ Alliance and the Verdant Wheel. Today we introduce the last of our major factions!
Pathfinder Society Second Edition Preview: Envoys' Alliance & Verdant Wheel
Two weeks ago, we introduced the idea of major and minor factions, as well as unveiled our first two factions: the Horizon Hunters and Radiant Oath! There's a lot of great information in that blog about our approach to factions, choosing leaders, and more, so definitely check it out. On Saturday at PaizoCon we teased the next two factions, and today we're formally introducing them at last. Let's get to it!
Pathfinder Society Second Edition Preview: Horizon Hunters & Radiant Oath
From the early Shadow War for Absalom to the introduction of factions in Season 3 to the transition to non-national factions in Season 6 to the removal of faction missions to Faction Journal Cards and Season 9's many storylines, we've seen factions grow and change so much over the years. And that's with good reason—factions are one of the unique elements that distinguish the Pathfinder Society campaign from the core rules, and they're consistently a big part of what inspires and shapes character concepts. There was no doubt in our mind that Pathfinder Society's second edition campaign would include factions, too.
Introducing the Concordance Faction!
In Season 8 of the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild, the Pathfinder Society set its sights far from Golarion. Pathfinders soared through the skies of the Plane of Air, swam through the endless oceans of the Plane of Water, embroiled themselves in genie politics on the Plane of Fire, and brought lost and forgotten secrets to light on the Plane of Earth. And while they were hopping through the planes, the Pathfinders ran headfirst into the plans of a group called the Concordance of Elements. The Concordance first came onstage as a fierce opponent to the Pathfinder Society, but ultimately became an ally. In the interests of keeping this blog low on spoilers, I'll just say: nothing like an angry demigod to help two groups set aside their differences. But what began as an alliance of desperation evolved into a genuine partnership.
