Greetings Pathfinders! We are Natural Pengu and we are working on bringing the world of Pathfinder into our mobile Virtual Tabletop (VTT). We are excited to announce:

  • All Pathfinder Player Core classes, ancestries, and heritages are now available in our Player Core Toolkit!
  • Early Access for the Natural Pengu Mobile VTT will be available on Monday!
Pengu Studios Mobile VTT Early Access Available Monday, all player core classes available. Choose your price, help us find the bugs, join early access!

Great for Players and Game Masters on the Go

Designed for the modern player and Game Master, our Mobile Pathfinder VTT is a great solution for those seeking the thrill of Pathfinder on the go. When you’re playing with our Mobile VTT, you can play anywhere, anytime.

Computers and laptops have always been the main devices to play, while mobiles and tablets have been companion devices.

We are turning that concept on its head. A mobile phone is all you need to play.

The Player Core Toolkit - The Entry Phase

Our Player Core Toolkit is the entry phase of our VTT. It contains character creation, character sheets, dice rolling with automatic modifiers, and integrated rules accessible on the fly.

The Character Creator now contains all classes, ancestries, and heritages available in Pathfinder Player Core with assisted level-up on the way.

You can access some rule snippets without owning Paizo’s Player Core. More in-depth rules are accessible for free if you have purchased the Player Core PDF from Paizo*, or you can purchase the Player Core PDF with integration to our platform from us at Natural Pengu for $19.99.

The Next Phase - Mobile VTT Coming On Monday!

But that's not all. We're not just offering a character sheet – we are a full-fledged Virtual Tabletop. Maps, tokens, Game Master tools, and everything you need to create an immersive campaign are on the way with a basic early access version opening on Monday. We are committed to providing a comprehensive Mobile VTT experience that caters to every aspect of your Pathfinder adventure. With these coming functionalities, you can play with a complete VTT, all easily used through a web browser on your phone.

Early Access: Shape the Future with Us

Even though all classes have been tested, our VTT remains in the beta phase with many bugs to be found. You can choose a free plan, or a $1 plan, and get Early access to all of the Player Core Toolkit features.

By choosing our $2 plan you will also get Early access to the Natural Pengu Mobile VTT, when it becomes available on Monday.

These are limited time offers and prices may increase with time as the platform evolves. So get these low prices while you can! With your support we can keep developing the Natural Pengu Mobile VTT into something truly great.

I have been very critical in the first blog, and I have the opportunity to balance it out, so here:

This blog and the teaser video do a MUCH better job selling it, it looks much more professional, and explaining that the mobile version is teh "main" focus help a lot too! (I don't even remember if it was mentioned in the initial announcement!)
From what I see, everything is clearer here.
Good job.

I have to agree with Elfteiroh, you've really leveled up ;)

This presents something that's far more interesting, whilst a mobile isn't my tool of choice for VTTs there's undoubtedly a market there and a lot of players who are edged out by the need for a PC or tablet. Hopefully this will serve to allow even more players and GMs to enjoy games and bring in more people to our community, everyone wins!

I hope this does very well, it certainly gives a far more professional, impressive vibe this time! My one issue that immediately stands out would be that even the free $0 subscription requires a credit cards info be entered to "buy" it, that's going to significantly cut down on the user base, most directly amongst those who don't have PCs and are the best audience I suspect, if that could be fixed I think it'd add a world of new players.

Guilty as (not) charged. Definitely makes it go from a “hmm, will check it out” to “probably not, thanks”. I’m basically all for using free tools, and while that isn’t a business model many (any?) businesses can absorb, I’m not really in the habit of signing up to too many subscriptions. Those for are will likely see this as a value proposition - they either think it will be good value among all their other subscriptions, or they won’t. But the thing is, they are already in the subscription mode and are much more likely to…buy in.

The easiest way to get me to…buy in…is to ease me in as much as possible. I’m definitely not signing up, for a free tool, by giving the makers my credit card details. I’m clearly not the target market, but I might be…

Great to hear from you again Elfteiroh!

I must say that the first blog response, even though it was admittedly hard to read, helped us a lot. You gave us a clear idea for what was wrong. With that kind of clarity, it is simple for us to start taking steps to fix things.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback here as well!

Cheers!

Hi Richard! This is great stuff.

You make a really good point again. So, I'll prioritize fixing the $0 sub for sure, so no credit card info is needed. There are some foundational mechanics we need to change to make it possible. But from what you are saying, that will totally be worth it. It will take a bit of time, but I'm on it...

I think you messaged me about this before, right? Sorry it has taken some time for the penny to fully drop on this one!

Cheers!

Hello OceanshieldwolPF 2.5

Thank you for responding to our post!

The business model is the really hard and important question. I know, subs are not ideal. It is true. I personally feel I have too many subs, from everywhere. And somehow I think maybe there is another way. So as we are making the platform better, I would also like to improve the business model.

I would really like to hear your thoughts. What kind of business model would work for you? Send me a PM or something, if you have the time and would like to chat about it.

Cheers!

See you there!

Add another for the "Free, just provide credit card details". Left me feeling like I was tricked into signing up & providing my details before being told the free tier needed a credit card - and couldn't find any way to delete my account afterwards.

Went from intrigued possible future subscriber to annoyed and unlikely to return in 5 minutes flat.

Are there plans with Society Play that allow this in the future as a character sheet?

There are no character sheet requirements in society play, but you do need to be able to provide your GM with visible access to whatever format you are using. You may not be comfortable handing over your phone and the GM may not be comfortable handling it either.
