Starfinder Evolutionist Playtest Wrap-Up!

Monday, October 4, 2021

With the close of the Starfinder evolutionist playtest, we want to thank everyone who participated whether by filling out a survey or sharing thoughts on our forum or another venue.

A catlike alien is rife with augmentations and has a futuristic cannon for an arm

We’re working on processing your input and (as appropriate for a class all about the power of change) making adjustments to help the evolutionist shine. Of note, we’re looking at the class complexity and its effectiveness in and out of combat, as well as some quality-of-life improvements (such as changing the name of its pool of points).

On top of that we’ll be very excited to share with you the product in which this new class will appear, so keep an eye out! For now, enjoy another glance at our iconic, illustrated by Kent Hamilton!

Thanks so much for your valuable feedback during this playtest and good luck on your adventures among the stars.

I'm happy the arm cannon was bulked up a bit on the Iconic. I definitely like it more.

Glad those are the takeaways, I love the class and am so happy it exists! Thanks you starfinder team!

Really glad to hear there will be focus on the out-of-combat utility for the class. Best of luck to the team working on this.

That art is definitely selling just how alien the class is. I can't even tell what its base race is supposed to be.

Or is it another organism who gave themselves a Pahtra face? (It's probably a Pahtra)

Second this, that art is fun.

Took me a second to realize the rainbow flags were actually wires, though I suppose it could be both.

Thanks for being willing to change (heh) your original way of thinking on the Evolutionist. I definitely love the theme, and I look forward to seeing where you all take the great class idea mechanically!

The art is nice, though I find it hard to match it to the playtest class, this seems to include more parallel evolution and not one big one, but I am looking forward to an improved version.
