Help Geek Grind Coffee Grow K-Cup Coffee Offerings!

Tuesday, September 7, 2021

Hello again from Geek Grind Coffee! We are passionate gamers and lovers of all things that celebrate art and imagination! It is with these loves brought together that we created Geek Grind Coffee. But now we need your help!

Geek Grind Coffee Coffee pods kickstarter banner

With your support, Geek Grind Coffee will purchase the K-Cup Coffee Pod manufacturing machines and supplies we require to expand our offering from one current product (Dragon's Roast - Dark Fire Blend Coffee Pods) to more than sixteen different coffee pod offerings! These are the single-use pods you are familiar with. They are compatible will all the major coffee pod machines. We have the machines waiting at the supplier and with a successful Kickstarter, they will arrive about 2 weeks after the end of the campaign, at which point we will begin production!

The Kickstarter funds will specifically be used to invest in reliable K-Cup Coffee Pod manufacturing machines and the supplies needed to create an expanded line of coffee pods. We have worked in the mountains of Colombia growing the world's finest coffee for many years. Now we hope to have the opportunity to expand and offer more delicious releases with your help!

We plan to expand our line to at least 16 different blends and flavors, and we may expand to more than 20. Our turnaround time will be very attractive to backers as we know the coffee processing methods very well and have produced K-Cups in the past, so we know what to do, we just need your help to do it!

More About Our Geek Grind Story:

We operate Geek Grind Coffee from beautiful South Carolina and the mountains of Colombia. We ship from Chicago due to the central location. Our family has been growing and roasting coffee from the mountains of Colombia since the 1980s. We are an American family living between the two countries of the US and these coffee farms.

A coffee family since the late 1970's, today we offer many exciting traditional roasts and flavored coffees available in whole bean and ground coffee at our company store GeekGrindCoffee.com—We have hundreds of 5-Star reviews! This Kickstarter will allow us to expand our K-Cup offerings into many of the roasts and flavors that are currently so popular on our website but only available as whole bean or ground coffee. These are all the things we love brought together! Coffee, gaming, fantasy, science fiction and more! Geek Grind Coffee is the perfect blend of everything we love!

We are utilizing our family's decades of passion, skill and expertise in the cultivation and roasting of mountain-grown Colombian coffee. Through Geek Grind Coffee, you have immediate access to our Colombian coffee farms and the unique quality that only direct-sourced coffee farming can bring to you. This may be the best coffee you have ever tasted and for a simple reason—we grow it and carefully manage every stage of the process in order to get to your cup.

Thank you for your support!

These things are a massive pollutant and their creator has said he regrets inventing them. Not a partnership I’m thrilled to see.

Ayup. This really does NOT seem to be good product branding for Paizo right now. Right now as in "as the planet burns"

Agree with above sentiments but also appreciate Paizo working with small businesses to help them grow.

The date says 2020.

I'm meh on K-cups. They're very convenient, so they're going to have a place in workplace lunchrooms and other places where the convenience outweighs the cost (monetary and environmental). But ever since pandemic began, I'm guessing a lot of people have changed their coffee routines to be intentionally less convenient.

Also reusable K-cup brewer compatible containers are cheap as f@&*.

Seconded. I have a Keurig, but keep a coffee grinder and supply of reusable K-cups on hand to fill them with whatever I want the night before for delicious coffee in the morning. Which includes Geek Grinds Dwarven Dawn as a new favorite of mine.

Personally, I use Geek Grind whole bean coffee, grind it myself, and put it in a reusable k-cup.

I asked Patrick about bioplastic or compostable k-cups. They are monitor the viability. They are more expensive and degrade in quality. And their pods are already recyclable. It will be an ongoing conversation. That's the nice thing about being able to talk to the family that makes your coffee. Thanks!

If they hadn't been rude to Nonat1s, I'd probably back them.

I tried backing this repeatedly but it kept declining a perfectly fine card that worked for other things like ordering from the Paizo website as a test.

If they wanted to restrict options to fund their expansion, mission successful.

Wish them the best of luck, maybe someday I can buy them at a convention or something.

Wouldn't that be more an issue with KS itself?

I'm sure their customer service would like to help you if you email info@geekgrindcoffee.com.

While I appreciate Paizo working with smaller companies (and I do like Geek Grind), this is a product I won't be backing. K-Cups, and single-use plastics as a whole, are not something I personally want to fund more of. I'm glad the Geek Grind fam are looking into more eco-friendly solutions, but I think I'll wait until those solutions are actually available before slapping my money down.

I AM glad that Geek Grind is expanding their product line. I like their products a ton! But sometimes the best customer feedback is honest feedback.

I’ve placed a handful of orders to geek grind but my last order was placed in July. I have yet to receive it. My first attempt at bringing this to their attention resulted in one of the founders of the company stating a replacement shipment would be sent with a vague excuse as to the usps not updating. Which is funny seeing as their own site says the order is unfulfilled. I’ve reached out three other times with zero response concerning my order and it still shows unfilulfilled.

Sadly, this doesn’t look good. Me and my group love pathfinder and love coffee and have been a consistent customer of theirs for a while now. But this last order may have soured my experience beyond redemption.

Maybe Paizo should partner with a different company in the future…
