Magus goes BOOM! Catch up on the Secrets of Magic Liveplay!

Wedneday, July 21, 2021

Last week, four “Enigmas,” esteemed graduates from the College of Mysteries in the metropolis of Absalom, traveled to a tiny desert village in eastern Thuvia, along the banks of the Junira River. The halfling summoner Fairel (Bonnie Gordon), dwarven wizard Ingot (Xander Jeanneret), half-elf magus Dond Oom (London Carlisle), and kitsune witch Hachi (Michelle Nguyen Bradley), followed rumors that everyone in this small community had suddenly developed magical abilities. After overcoming an ambush that helped them learn each other’s abilities, including an explosive spellstrike critical hit from the magus, they crested the nearest dune to find the bustling, arid hamlet before them.

As the night continued, they indeed met inhabitants displaying new magical abilities and began to explore what might be the cause. Theories were abundant, but answers weren’t immediately clear. Can these four spellslinging scholars work together to get to the bottom of this mystery before rogue magic tears the place apart?

There was something deeply appropriate about the first magus attack roll being a spellstrike with shocking grasp that critted.

Vigilant Seal

Am I the only one who is wondering why the heck a non-monk, frontliner melee character (Dond Oom the magus) isn't wearing ANY armor? Not even Mage Armor. If there is some sort of mechanical benefit to this, I'd love to see it or at least have it hinted at.

Also, will this particular adventure be published once the Live play is complete? This has a lot of interesting components that would be fun to explore with our own set of characters.

Good question. I don't see any armor on his character sheet. Let's find out.

We have not announced plans to do so at this time. It is too long for a PDF One-Shot. We already have our printed adventures planned months/years out. But never say never.
