Dwarven Forge Fall of Plaguestone Set

Thursday, August 2, 2019

A group of new heroes, traveling through the small community of Plaguestone, must come together to solve the murder of a friend and soon discover forbidden alchemy, mutant animals, and a nearby forest rotting away due to a mysterious blight.

We’ve partnered with our friends at Dwarven Forge to create a special terrain set for the Fall of Plaguestone adventure! The terrain is focused around four key encounters in the adventure and is available for preorder today at Dwarvenforge.com. Here’s what you’ll see when the set ships in Q1 2020.

This looks fantastic. I especially like the secret door.

This is cool as heck to bad I will start running it next week. This feels like bad timing. However I may grab it anyway as the pieces look cool and I am getting more into miniatures.

The DwarvenForge stuff is amazing. I've backed a lot of their Kickstarter projects and been very happy with everything I've received. It can be expensive, especially if you want EVERYTHING, but this campaign seems to be of a good entry-level size. There are lots of affordable bits and pieces that can be used without going bonkers into all the walls and caverns, and then there are 4 nice, complete sub-sets if want more but are not interested in the whole thing. A bit of a luxury, obviously, but lots of fun.

What did this total come out to, if you don't mind me asking?

It's about $1,199, but buying the kits separate come to about $1,335 so it is actually almost $150 discount. (plus free shipping if ordered before 8/5, that's gotta be a chunk of change).

I was excited for this. Then I saw the price tag and choked on my coffee. I'll pass.

Yes, DF has always been a high-end, luxury RPG accessory.

it’s time someone invented RGB 3D printing.

Wizkids is going to enter the "dungeon tiles" market in 2020.
Their product is not only fully painted plastic, but also lighter and much cheaper.
I see thematisiert becoming the go-to 3D supplier around 2022.

As long as the maps are finally starting to take into account people like building things. That has been the big issue in the past of people wanting to build things in 3D for pathfinder. The maps didn't make logically sense from a building standpoint, and had to be tweeked.

It's much easier to look at lines of molds and plaster process out there (Hirst Arts/Merlin's Magic), it may take some time and more do it yourself, but much easier on the wallet and a bit more sturdy.

The weight of the Dwarven Forge comes with the durability, that stuff is indestructible.
