The text "Second Printing" will appear on page 2 at the bottom of the masthead (that's the fancy publishing term for the credits), near "Printed in China." (The first printing does not say "First Printing.")
Note that the second printing has not yet arrived, so at this moment, every copy out there is First Printing.
Thanks!
When is the cutoff point for requesting replacements? For example, my copy of Inner Sea Gods seems to have developed a similar problem to the Starfinder Core Rulebook, but I assume that we are well past the "warranty" period for that book. I have the further complication of having bought it at a FLGS that is no longer in business.

Just get some good Acid Free Binding glue and a nice long artist brush and glue the fabric to the page block. it will glue the whole spine together so that it no longer arches but it will solve the problem and cost less than having it re-bound :)
...this sounds well and far beyond my technical capabilities, equipment, and skill level.
I'm the sort of person that buys the pre-painted plastic minis because when trying to paint unpainted minis in the past, ended up with more paint on myself and the surrounding room than *on the mini*.

Its hard to have a blanket policy for older books as the longer they are in circulation the harder it is to determine what is unusual damage and what is normal wear and tear. If you feel your book is subject from a abnormal binding failure, go ahead and send customer.service@paizo.com an email with the relevant details and a picture.

Thanks!
I was not seriously thinking of asking you for a replacement for Inner Sea Gods, as I was assuming that its defect was the result of ordinary wear and tear and neither of us seems to have good cause to say otherwise at this point.
I was more wondering what the ultimate situation might be with my apparently "doomed" Starfinder book (whose only sign of defect now is the fact that the cloth strip appears to be glued to the back strip of the book, but, with extra careful handling on my part and me taking the already broken book instead of it to most games, it could hold together a lot longer than the first book did).

My replacement copy arrived in mid September and looked fine. I just noticed yesterday that it's slowly developing the same problem. It's odd; the first copy had the problem from the very beginning on both top and bottom, but this one has developed the problem very slowly, and so far only on the top.

My replacement came in last night. The binding is good, but there's a big crimp along the top of the front and back covers. I'm not worried about the book falling apart now, so I'll live with it, but I expected better.
That sounds unusual. Can you please email us some pictures of that at customer.service@paizo.com?
