Everyone knows that the surest way to improve the quality of any tabletop game is to invite the wholesome goodness* of goblins into your home, and your heart**. For this year's Free RPG Day, Paizo did just that, by delivering the whimsical prequel to our We Be Goblins series of adventures: We B4 Goblins. This lighthearted coming-of-age tale takes your players back in time to adolescence of our iconic goblin heroes***, where they can help these young adventurers reach adulthood by claiming their toads and joining in on their very first raid in a scenario ideal for introducing new players!

And now, We B4 Goblins is available to YOU free of charge on your paizo.com account!

As happens alarmingly often with these adorable*** little tykes, we have more goblins than can reasonably fit in the space provided! So for those of you who plan to run a table with five or six players, we have two brand new goblin characters for your PCs to test drive: the warchanter-in-training Bisbee, and the ever-lovable Smuz, who so obviously a goblin that you shouldn't even consider the possibility that he might not be. Because, I mean, come on.

These two little champions are ready to join Reta, Mogmurch, Chuffy, and Poog as they brave the world for the very first time! Visit your friendly local game store today, and print out these handy companions to join your own game today!

did you mean to not give Smuz the same language as the other goblins (his sheet has undercommon but not goblin)? I think as GM especially for new players I would just hand wave that otherwise you have one PC who can't talk to the rest of the party in a manner that they can understand.

Also will you be releasing versions of Bisbee and Smuz for the earlier modules? (I think it would be fun to have authorized versions - assuming that these are intended to be allowed in PFS play of these modules)

Mite not be a very fun scenario for that player, I agree.

So, the real question is, are these legal for PFS play?

Smuz has a, er, interesting song.

Also, what are the chances they'll get stats for the other scenarios?

I would also like to see stats for these two for the other modules if at all possible. That said, and I'm sure this is pitiful, but what exactly is Smuz, I mean other than obviously being a goblin.

Liberty's Edge

Smuz is a Goblin!

At this time there are no plans to make additional versions of Smuz or Bizbee for the other We Be Goblins adventures, but you're free to extrapolate what's here to make higher-level versions for your own home games.

Sadness. In what direction did you envision Smuz going? The other is obviously going to be a bard.

I imagine Smuz branching into derro next.

sadness I wanted to see where Smuz goes for higher levels..... would be really fun (definitely going to take a shot at it for home games but would love to see PFS versions for the other modules as running them with more than 4 players is a pretty common occurrence and new options would make them fun to revisit for players and GM's alike.

This is glorious.

Seriously... just the sort of palate-cleanser for my HV group to come up for some less soul-crushing villainy....

From the sound of it, Smuz would advance nicely as a Blight Druid. I would make Bizbee a Bard with the Flame Dancer archetype.

I will post stats for them here tomorrow for use in home games.

Just to double check...

Are these two PFS legal?

If so, please make PFS legal pregens for these two for the rest of the We Be Goblins line...

Silver Crusade

Awesome download!! Thank you so much for these. Now to find that Mite errr blue "goblin" mini I have.....

Silver Crusade

Curious on Smuz's build.

I was putting him into Hero Labs & curious on a few things.

The Hit Dice:

He has 2D6+1 due to +1 level adjustment. He has 7 HPs starting. Do you not add his commoner level or is it the average starting HPs of the 2 levels? (Been awhile since I've made a non standard humanoid PC)

Trait:
Also he doesn't get to start with a trait (HL has it listed as 0 starting). So how does he get Ugly Little Bugger? Granted that one will be a custom trait but was mostly curious how he starts with it.

Armor:
Also he has padded armor but no armor prof. Does he have a minus with it? I'm not seeing it in his stats, reason for my asking.

Other then that, everything else works pretty good. Hope someone chooses this guy at ReaperCon this year!!

1) Yes, NPCs only have half hp compared to PCs who have full at 1st level.

2) Ignore HL. NPCs don't normally get traits. NPC PCs get at least one.

3) Padded and leather armor has no penalties to give, hence why you don't see anything. This is why a wizard can wear a mithral shirt without check penalties, but still have arcane spell failure.

Silver Crusade

Thanks for the explanations. I think I'm just gonna print off the sheets that are in the book as they have items made for the adventure. Plus they work for Con character sheets.

I did see the no armor penalty after I posted. Mainly thought there was a no prof penalty on top of the armor type penalty.

Again, thanks!!

Are these two PFS legal?

If so, please make PFS legal pregens for these two for the rest of the We Be Goblins line...

Thread necro....

Did this get answered?? It would be good to know if they are PFS legal.

We're due to run two tables of WB4G on Monday, so it would be great to get an answer to this.

Necroing for the different questions already asked.

Also, would be nice if this was in "My Downloads" in a permanent fashion.
