I think I quoted the wrong post.
NPC Codex had animal companions with 3 natural attacks that got to use the 'fake iterative' option, which was only available if you had 2 or less natural attacks.
Multiattack: An animal companion gains Multiattack as
a bonus feat if it has three or more natural attacks and does
not already have that feat. If it does not have the requisite
three or more natural attacks, the animal companion
instead gains a second attack with one of its natural
weapons, albeit at a –5 penalty
Since it's not clear from those rules that animal companions with 3 or more natural attacks can use the fake-iterative option if Multiattack would be useless, I thought that the 6th printing of the CRB would make note of this. But as I quoted above, this didn't appear to be the case as the language didn't change from the 5th printing.
So I'm wondering if this clarification will be in the bestiary when it goes out next under the Multiattack feat, as I don't see any way from the rules to get the 'fake-iterative for Animal companions with 3 or more natural attacks that won't benefit from multiattack', even though I agree that getting a feature that does nothing is lame.
So I'm just trying to reconcile everything :)

Sean, do bears still start as small size and only advance to medium as animal companions. there is a great picture of a true large polar type bear in the latest reign of winter book can those of use that love big bears not teddy bears get some love? Remember bears are big.
BTW I will be buying the NPC codex 2 as I loved the NPC codex 1 and am looking forward to an NPC codex 3 perhaps with NPC's of races from the Advanced Race guide?

Sean, I do not think bears should have a greater number of stat bonuses than other AC’s but by nerfing a bears size you make them a lesser AC than wolves and big cats or dinos who IMO should not be AC’s as they are not animals but reptiles and are cold blooded. It makes no sense that wolves or big cats should be larger than bears how hard would it be to balance the stat bonuses for a bear to make them equal to those of a cat or a wolf when large sized? All AC’s IMO should have the same number of stat bonuses just divided up differently.
As for size being able to be increased by magic it costs 1100 gp per casting and with the miserly amount of gold you get in PFS it is not worth it. Rangers do not get 4th level spells until 14th level outside of normal PFS play so how exactly can a ranger increase his AC’s size with magic in PFS without spending 1100gp per casting as there are no magic items that increased an AC’s size stated up in cannon published materials and no crafting is allowed in PFS. I was hoping that a collar that produced Animal growth x times per day was in the animal book but no such luck.
On a side matter could you ask the other DEV’s to price barding for Medium and large sized mounts and companions and put it in a forth coming release?
Cheapy what are Honey pots of atavism?

Honey Pots of atavism are honey pots, a bear's favorite beverage, that have the honey inside enchanted to convey the effects of the atavism spell.
Which is the spell that I thought enlarged an animal, but apparently it just makes it into a mean killing machine. What I of course meant is honey pots of animal growth, brewed by your friendly apiarist Ranger with Brew Potion and who is at least 13th level.

or dinos who IMO should not be AC’s as they are not animals but reptiles and are cold blooded.
they are not animals but reptiles
what
Reptiles are Animals. Even in the real world, they're part of the animal kingdom - Vertebrates (Phylum Chordata) - which includes the Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, and Fish Classes (plus a few weirdo subclasses for things like platypuses).
And in 3.5/PF, Dinosaurs have always been Animals (the creature type).
Or should Snakes, Crocodiles, and Lizards be banned from being ACs too since they're also reptiles and cold blooded? What about other cold-blooded vertebrates like Frogs and Sharks? And let's not even get started on invertebrates like the Giant Wasp and Giant Spider.

Additional question, while looking at animal companions and primary attacks: horse animal companions don't appear to have the 'docile' ability. This means that at 4th level, their hooves don't become primary, like a bestiary horse' would. I know the animals aren't perfect copies of their bestiary versions, but this seems to be an odd omission. Intentional? The NPC Codex assumes they're still secondary.
