I try to be patient in regards to receiving packages from the US, living in Canada. But for some reason my Paizo AP orders seem exceptionally slow, especially lately. Is there a known reason for this?
As an example, my book 6 of Strange Aeons, according to the email, should've been shipped from Paizo between Feb 8-17 by standard shipping. I received it Yesterday, 40 days after the last date of shipping.
I don't know, I understand I'm not paying for premium shipping, but the speed still seems extremely slow and I'm wondering if there is something unusual to my situation or this is a Canada standard expectations?

Hello,
I live in Ontario, Canada, and my last order took about 3 weeks to arrive. That's the norm for where I live when I'm buying from the US; and since I live in Canada, I mostly buy from Amazon.ca, and Chapters Indigo.

What is "standard shipping," cheapest possible? If so, in the US, they use UPS Mail Innovations. After issuing a shipping label the package sits until enough other packages are ready to ship to the same regional UPS hub, at which point it gets handed off to the US Postal Service. For me, that hub is Denver, so the wait wasn't too bad, though I could no longer tolerate the USPS black hole, either, so I switched to straight UPS Ground. I'd bet something similar is used for you with a different partnership. You might be at the mercy of how many people order nearby. Just a guess.

Yes, I choose cheapest possible which I believe goes to standard shipping. To be honest though I figured that, it being international, all Canada shipping from paizo would go pretty much straight to Vancouver or some hub point and then let Canada post figure it out.
I'm in SK, and I've never quite had any other US orders take as long as Paizo AP orders to arrive.

Forty days is a long time to wait for something you've already paid for; I would be losing my patience for sure. Since there's no tracking, I would have thought it was lost along the way, and I would be getting worried. Like I said before, when buying from the States, it usually takes three weeks for the parcel to arrive.

With the partnership shipping (cheapest possible), it all depends upon how many people have also ordered. They wait to ship until they've reached a threshold # of packages. I think I heard UPSMI waits for 100 packages. Going to Denver, that typically took a week, i.e., I'd get the "your package is due to ship in XX days" then it would actually ship in a week (and then it took another week). The UPS tracking would then begin updating (but it got hinkey once they handed off to the postal service). As a result of this, it will be different every month, too, particularly if there aren't a lot of subscribers in your area, in which case you're relying on even more people to decide they want whatever was released that month.

That's good to know Taks, thanks for the information!.
