Ley lines unlike any seen before are appearing throughout the Darklands. They strike like bolts of lightning, drilling through miles of rock and devastating all they touch. When they recede, they leave in their wake a magic that warps flesh and stone alike. No one knows where the ley lines come from or what’s behind their strange behavior—but if the vaultlines can’t be stopped, the entire Darklands is in peril!

The PCs are prisoners on their way to Lattiskar, a Darklands settlement infamous for its history of fleshwarping, when the first vaultline arrives. In the ensuing chaos, the characters win their freedom and embark upon a quest to find the source of the volatile magic endangering their Darklands home. Along the way, they’ll make both friends and enemies among their Darklands neighbors, including Lattiskar’s secretive ayindilar elves and the imperious serpentfolk of Sverenagati, as well as the xiomorns, the ancient, alien architects of the vaults of Orv. Should the PCs succeed, they’ll unravel a mystery set in motion over 10,000 years ago—and perhaps find a way to harness the power of the vaultlines for themselves!
