The Abomination Vaults Comes to 5E!

I’m Ron Lundeen, the development manager responsible for the Abomination Vaults Adventure Path. At Paizo, we have a lot of confidence in our adventures. We’ve been crafting phenomenal campaigns for many years, and the Pathfinder Second Edition rules have only helped us make more. The Abomination Vaults Adventure Path has been one of our best campaigns, and our fans love it. But a lot more gamers all over the world play the newest edition of the world’s oldest RPG, and we wanted to show them how great Paizo’s Adventure Paths can be, too.
The Abomination Vaults in One Big Book!

I’m Ron Lundeen, development manager responsible for the Abomination Vaults Adventure Path. I knew this campaign would be a big hit from the start: it has old-fashioned kick-down-the-door dungeon exploration seeded with interesting NPCs, side quests, and tons of roleplaying. The authors—James Jacobs, Vanessa Hoskins, and Stephen Radney-MacFarland—really blew me away by adding exciting action sequences and compelling character personalities to every dungeon level. The Abomination Vaults present more than a place to fight monsters and grab loot (although there’s plenty of that!), but an opportunity for heroes to solve mysteries, negotiate old feuds, rescue innocent people, and much more. And, of course, the villain lurking behind the scenes is a terrifying and powerful enemy. She’s right there on the cover and, wow, does she look angry!
Iconic Encounter: Tracks In The Snow

Nhalmika Ironsight ran through the fresh snow. It wasn’t that much snow—it wouldn’t reach higher than mid-shin on a human—but it was higher than Nhalmika’s knees. And there’s a big difference, she now knew, between running through snow below your knees and running through snow above them. But she nevertheless ran on, hefting her scattergun to keep it free of moisture that might foul the firing mechanism. Most humans would find the large gun to be far too heavy, but Nhalmika carried it with practiced ease. So perhaps there was a fair tradeoff somehow.
Tales of Lost Omens: Threading The Needle

Arvin Utner knew his next words would save him or doom him. His head started to perspire beneath his powdered wig. A rivulet of sweat ran down behind his left ear, leaving a small white smear from the wig’s powder.
Meet the Iconics: Nhalmika

Nhalmika Ironsight honors dwarven tradition, even as she wanders the surface world far from home. With her wide build, mane of dark hair, and amber eyes, Nhalmika is striking in any setting, but it’s the dwarven scattergun she keeps at hand that her friends and foes most remember.
No-Prep Character: Gristleburst

The goblin alchemist Gristleburst is the fourth and final member of the protagonist adventuring part in the Pathfinder novella, The Shroud of Four Silences, by Pathfinder Tales veteran Liane Merciel. You can find the No-Prep Character (NPC) entries for his compatriots, Eleaukas, Lisavet, and Wendlyn, on previous blogs. Check out the party’s full adventure here on paizo.com or on the Kindle bookstore.
