A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 12th level characters (Tier: 12).

The mysteries of the Woodsedge Lodge continue as you and your fellow Pathfinders are sent to devil-tainted Cheliax and the steamy jungles of the Mwangi Expanse to find two missing venture-captains.

The Maze of the Open Road is the second scenario in the Eyes of the Ten campaign arc for Tier 12. It is a sequel to Pathfinder Society Scenario #46: Eyes of the Ten—Part I: Requiem for the Red Raven and is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-05: Eyes of the Ten—Part III: Red Revolution.

Written by Mark Moreland

GM review.

After the full on fest that was part 1, this scenario goes back to the regular scenario style. Thankfully it also reduces the time and we were able to do this in four hours.

This scenario is split into two with only a very basic link between the two. The first half was full of role play with a tough encounters. The second half was all to brief and little more than a fight. I really enjoyed running the first half but the second failed partly because the BBEG's tactics just did not stand up to what the PC's could bring to the table.

Still great

5/5

This scenario has some memorable encounters in it, although nothing to the standards of part 1. Your GM's prep and use of certain creatures really determines the difficulty here. There are plenty of nasty tricks that can be played, and at this level, you should be expecting them.

More fun in the retirement arc

4/5

This is easily the weakest of the retirement arc. The first part of the adventure features a great social encounter, although the second half falls a bit flat. Even though it is a bit weaker than the others, it's still an extremely fun adventure with some memorable scenes.

Two Short Scenarios in One

3/5

This adventure was entertaining, but lacked some of the strength of the prior scenario. This adventure takes place in two very disparate parts of Golarion and have little to do with one another aside from a couple of the friendly NPCs having a connection to one another.

Because of that, it almost feels as if this is two smaller two encounter scenarios connected into one. The major villains seem somewhat disconnected from the overall plot of the retirement arc and while the final villain is entertaining, there is very little build up for them within the scenario causing them to come nearly out of nowhere right before the party drives him off.

This was an entertaining scenario, but left me wanting more. I would been happier if the scenario was a bit longer in each section and gave more of a feel of each of the areas than what could be seen with a couple encounters. The first half was significantly better if only for the additional NPCs to interact with, but the second half felt more like a series of skill checks that you had to pass in order to get to the next encounter.

For difficulty, two encounters were very easy for the (five person) party two deal with, while the other two were somewhat threatening, but never really put the party in incredible danger.

Level 12 drool.

I had a really productive playtest of this tonight. I think people are going to enjoy this when it drops at PaizoCon.

I would comment but alas I can not.

The Exchange

Is this one double-length like the first part, or will it fit in a 4-5 hour slot?

It's standard price, so I'm guessing it's standard length.

Standard length.

Grand Lodge

Noticed a flaw in the chronicle sheet. It awards an experiance point to the players. This is a level 12 adventure, that shouldn't be there.

Question in the spoiler.

Spoiler:
And the question I have is that there are no campaign reward in this adventure like there is in Part 1. Is that correct?

There are unfortunately a few issues with #54 that I'll need to correct (hopefully) before Gen Con. The two you've mentioned are among them.

Shadow Lodge

anyone know if this mod ever get its promised fixes ?

Grand Lodge

Even though the Chronicle advises 0 XPs, it actually does award 1 XP now. Also, Campaign Points and how to achieve them are included on page 19.

Silver Crusade

As I have heard conflicting reports of how much exp you are supposed to get from this and I fully understand the impact of the Word of Brock. I’d like to know how much exp you are supposed to have by the end of the Eyes of the Ten, as well as what each chronicle is worth throughout.
