For those not familiar with this movie, it’s an indie horror flick about a dude who wishes his crush would love him more than anyone in the world. And it’s very much a case of “be careful what you wish for….”. The movie only cost between $750,000 and $1 million, but had cleared over $400 million at the box office. Not too shabby.
Anyway, I finally got a chance to rent in on Amazon last night. I’m glad I did. It was a solid story. The acting was pretty good to amazing. Inde Navarrette was spectacularly and occasionally creepy. Some parts were well and truly disturbing. And I like that they don’t try to really explain anything about the source of the wish.
Anyway, I would encourage anyone who hasn’t seen it yet to do so. It’s still available VoD, and I think drops on Peacock by 17 July. It might also still be in theaters.
