Advice

Is there an oil or something I can put on my weapon in order to make it like a ghost touch weapon?

Ghost Oil.
Level 4 consumable.

FWIW, something to note if you're playing with remaster rules: with the legacy rules, the "ghost touch" rune only applies to melee weapons, and the same goes for the "ghost oil" consumable. With the remaster rules, the "ghost touch" rune can be etched onto any weapon, not just melee weapons.

"Ghost Oil" has not been errata'd to have the same update ( there appear to be no errata at all for "Lost Omens: Knights of Lastwall" per https://paizo.com/pathfinder/faq , let alone "remaster compatibility" errata) but it seems reasonable to give it the same change.

The "Ghostly Weapon" spell does not explicitly have that melee-only limitation even in the legacy CRB version. Haven't the faintest idea why there's that discrepancy. *shrug*

(Edit to add one more applicable item:
Ghostbane Fulu. https://2e.aonprd.com/Equipment.aspx?ID=978 ; but it's a higher-level item, probably due to better action economy for the same duration (i.e. you activate it as a free action in response to a hit, which means that there's zero duration wasted due to using it too early; and if you're suddenly trying to apply ghost oil *during* combat, you probably needed an interact action to draw it first. It also lacks the "melee weapon" restriction.)

Also, the remaster added the Astral Rune, which is a Ghost Touch rune except upgraded to also deal 1d6 spirit damage. And since spirit damage works on basically anything that isn't a construct and the rune is also cheaper than the other damage runes...

Of course, you're looking for alternatives to runes - I just though it worth mentioning as it basically entirely removes the main drawback of a ghost touch rune.

I hadn't noticed how good the Astral Rune is. Thanks for drawing my attention to it.

I find the ghost oil economy to be weird. It is 18 gp for a minute of use, but ghost touch runes are 75 gp. So it is cheaper than 5 minutes.

I understand that normal people do not need long term ghost solutions... but this is the enemy type that has the best options to run away when the fight turns sour. Just go through a wall, and start a 5+ minute chase.

Then again, maybe the Pharasma temple uses this grift to help subsidize low prices on Astral runes. A death god provided the best weapons in town is a great way to drum up followers.

Ghost touch takes the place of your property rune slot though, Ghost Oil doesn't.

So you can enjoy having a +1d6 damage throughout all encounters and use a consumable in the rare cases you face incorporeal. Or if you expect plenty of incorporeal and you want to save some money, go for ghost touch.
