Web Combos

Advice

Silver Crusade

Got a 4th level wizard, Exploiter Pact, and I got a cloak of Arachnida.

What Web spell combos can you guys think of? I'll be 5th level sometime in the near future, and wish to capatilize on the cloak.

Spiders of course. Or Vomit Swarm if there's a witch in your party.

If you've got opponents who are in the web and in effect grappled, you have a potential opportunity to hit them with a touch spell you wouldn't normally risk. Unfortunately you still only move at half speed, which puts your movement on par with someone who can make the saves. You're also unable to see through the webs any better than before.

All opponents in the Web spell take 2d4 Fire damage if the webs are set on fire. 1. have a familiar, 2. make sure the familiar has some way of dealing Fire damage that will ignite flammables. In 1 round you can deliver Grappled, Difficult Terrain, and potentially Cover or Total Cover for you, all while dealing the familiar's normal Fire damage and an ongoing 2d4 extra Fire damage.

It's the same answer I always give; aqueous orb.
You can be far back and just keep rolling it around in the web. You don't need to see your target and their cover or concealment doesn't matter. If you can just guess where they were, you can park the orb over them or roll over top of them.

The web makes them grappled, but the aqueous orb makes them entangled. So now they have a lowered Dex as well. Add that to the fact that if they're stuck in the web, they can't swim or break out of the aqueous orb. Sure, drowning doesn't happen often, but even 2d6 nonlethal damage from the water's battering adds up.

Also, the orb extinguishes fires, even magical ones up to Large size as dispel magic, and that makes it harder for anyone to burn themselves out of the web.

Gas spells, swarms, underwater entrapment.
Or just stick some jerk to the back side of a giant and enjoy the show.

I'm not sure if I should aid and abet shenanigans...
Cloak of Arachinida [shoulders] $14000. Kinda expensive, see Items that can save you thread. The real power of a wizard lies in Pearls of Power and Amulet of Spell Mastery, aka more spells.
If you are going to trick out Web:C2 spell would be;
Feats that increase the DC
metamagics like Persistent
Illusions to cover the web and make it seem not there - like Invisibility.
Augment summoning for Summon Monster (spiders) as the are not hindered by the webs...

I got the cloak as a random find in a dungeon. Wasn't something I bought.

As for the rest of you guys, thank you kindly for the input. I'll be adding and adjusting my spellbook as needed.

Stinking Cloud (summon a dretch) and Web are a nasty combo. If they fail the save vs the cloud they're nauseated and can't take the standard action to break out of the web.

Dretch demon 1/d Stinking Cloud:C3 Dur:2 rnds, Fort DC 13. A bit more than half the peasants will fail their save and another quarter on the second round if they stay in the 20ft radius AoE.
