After Gen Con event registration, my group of 4 friends ended up only getting a small number of tickets for Paizo's Pathfinder games before they all sold out.
We were unable to get tickets for the Specials for Friday and Saturday night, and these are the events that I primarily look forward to all year long.
I suspect that this was caused by the sudden increase in interest in Pathfinder due to the WoTC OGL crisis and also due to the continued migration of GMs from in-person gaming to Online events.
Does Paizo plan to make any additional tickets available for the Friday and Saturday night Specials or add additional events to accommodate the increased demand?
Please let me know.

We can't add additional tickets unless we get additional GM volunteers. The tickets listed are everything we have GMs or table space for; we didn't hold any back for any reason except to accommodate walk-ups for introductory scenarios.
Interested GMs can find volunteer information in our blog here; while we no longer have hotel rooms available, we can still provide GMs with a free GM badge to the show for running 3 or more slots.

I'd offer to judge the special if I could get my son at the table...(he's only 12). We didn't get tickets either and have the slot open anyways.

The WoTC crisis, but I think that the end of COVID, lockdowns, mask, and jab requirements is a bigger factor.
Locally, GMs and players are coming out again.
Origins is also sold out.
I'm glad to be doing in person gaming again!

We are at capacity for table space for the special, so I’d recommend just showing up with generics. There’s a chance you could still be seated if there are no shows.

People always cancel between now and Gen Con, and we always accept generic tickets after seating all ticket holders. It's extremely uncommon for us to be totally unable to seat a generic ticketholder (and generally has more to do with them having super-specific preferences than a lack of seats on our part). And, as I've said before, the more GMs we have, the more tables we're able to offer!

I’m an old man with a heart condition. Not really interested in travelling there, incurring all the cost, for the off chance that maybe, possibly, hopefully there may be a opening in a game…multiply that for what?…12 sessions over 4 days?..just don’t have energy or inclination to chase wild geese for 4 days
I’ll just have to write this up to the overhyping of an event vs the Ticket Master reality of actually getting tickets

This will never be confirmed, and that is certainly understandable, but I suspect Paizo is being punished for withdrawing from Gencon 21 at the last minute. up until 2019, they had the entire Sagamore Ballroom. in 2021 they announced they would not be attending a few days AFTER the deadline to refund your badge. Fortunately Gencon extended the deadline for people, but Paizo has been reduced to 25% of the space they used to enjoy.
