Would this be a reasonable revision of the noble scion stipend class feature?

I've been thinking about the noble scion. prestige class and I'm debating houseruling how the stipend feature . . .

Affluent (Ex): At each level, a noble scion gains a stipend worth a number of gold pieces equal to 750 multiplied by his class level. (He gains 750 gp at 1st level, an additional 1,500 gp at 2nd level, and so on.)

works. Specifically I'm thinking about adjusting it to be an ongoing income similar to the feat you can take as followed

Affluent (Ex): At each level, a noble scion gains a stipend worth a number of gold pieces equal to 100 multiplied by his class level per month. (He gains 100 gp a month at 1st level, 200 gp at 2nd level, and so on.) This stipend can only be spent only on services and non-material goods. Services and nonmaterial goods include the following.

Hiring entertainers, messengers, mounts, servants, transport, workers, and so on.
Improving your lifestyle quality (see Cost of Living on page 405 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook).
Obtaining invitations to exclusive events or entry into privileged locations.
Paying for lodgings, stabling, taxes, and tolls.

I feel this way it works a bit better as at 1st level you can pay it all into lifestyle for a wealthy lifestyle . . .

Wealthy (100 gp/month): The PC has a sizable home or a nice suite of rooms in a fine inn. He can secure any nonmagical item worth 5 gp or less from his belongings in his home in 1d10 minutes, and need only track purchases of meals or taxes in excess of 10 gp.

and if you take all 10 levels you can live an extravagant lifestyle . ..

Extravagant (1,000 gp/month): The PC lives in a mansion, castle, or other extravagant home—he might even own the building in question. This is the lifestyle of most aristocrats. He can secure any nonmagical item worth 25 gp or less from his belongings in his home in 1d10 minutes. He need only track purchases of meals or taxes in excess of 100 gp.

Sure you lose out on 7.500 gold worth of adventuring items but you are living a lifestyle appropriate to being a noble, alternatively you can spend it on non-material roleplaying options.

I am not clear what the post is about. Is this a modification to the prestige class or is this a homebrew feat you are considering? At 4th level the Noble Scion already gets 150 gp plus 10 per level per week to do this but can also purchase spellcasting services. At 10th level the Noble Scion already gets 1,000 gp per month of extra expenses. This seems to be a straight downgrade on the class.

If it is a homebrew feat anyone can take it seems to be pretty weak especially if it cannot be used to purchase spellcasting services.

Ahhh . . . I misread that and thought it was 150 + 10 per MONTH, even on a couple of rereads of the class. This is what the stipend was intended to increase to 100 per level. Ignore the original post then yes you're right the scion can get an extravagant lifestyle from their class.
