After a LONG hiatus, our GM has opted to finally resume his Age of Ashes campaign. Since many of the characters were not properly leveled at the end of the last game (many, many years ago) and half the players can no longer recall the details to their own characters, the GM has graciously allowed us to rebuild our characters. In this way, we can all better familiarize ourselves with the characters and take advantage of new classes, feats, items, and other mechanics. However, the GM also made it clear that he wanted the new versions of the characters to be conceptually close to the originals. In short, though the details can change, the core character concept remains the same.
At the time, I happened to be playing the eccentric gnome, Zarzuket, hermit and lover of animals.
I was hoping the hive mind might help me brainstorm out this little project. What's out there now that could make him a better not-druid? A better combatant? A more capable team player? A more interesting character? How would you build out such a concept?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Im also struggling to come up with fun viable builds for PF 2e. Its seems incredibly inferior to PF1. Hopefully, I can discover something to change my mind, but Im steadily losing hope.
