Ok I'll do it myself ))

Kick, nonlethal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 191d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

In response, he has an unexpected straight leg kick in the face and reaches the goal!
and no AoO, remember!

Maybe Mercutio will do something else, not provoking.

It was supposed to be against his regular attack, but now that's been nixed.

fist, Bloodrage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
nonlethal damage: 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Well, it might seem that the dicebot is playing favorites with somebody else, now....

The aoo he rolled was for this counter then.

Mercutio's taking hits instead of dealing.

heavy pick, non-lethal, Bloodrage: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

That's a good option too, as no condition was set about fists only. ;)

Madadash swings and punches but misses. Apparently the alcohol prevents him to concentrate on his own knowledge of unarmed combat.

Brayden continues to watch with excitement, splashing his ale all over the table as he laughs at each combatant's missed blow.

"AHAHAHA! I've seen better punches thrown by a hic goblin! A goblin... with no arms!" He drops his very red face onto the table, laughing quite hysterically at his own "joke."

Punch, nonlethal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Maladash says something to the Paladin, but who cares, no one here knows this language.

A figure enters the inn.
She observes the savage duel.

After inquiring as to what spurned the fight, the figure moves more towards the front row, as it were, to see it up close.

If you hit the other side of their pick, as far as I remember, this is considered an improvised weapon, and you still get a -4 penalty (unless you have special feats).

He had calculated that into it already. Hence the -1.

Mercutio strikes back, landing the side of the pick onto Maladash' scalp with a solid WHACK.

Mercutio steps back, and a lurid mist suddenly fills the room!

Buying a bit of time, here...if you want, we can agree to fast-forward a little while we play an in-game minute of hide-and-seek...possibly spreading the brawl in the process....

The table the other three of you are sitting at has become engulfed by the mist. You still see your drink, but now only the sounds of Mercutio and Maladash are indicators of where they are.

Dwarf: "Hey...pale guy, we're missing the show now :("

Half-orc: "The only thing you'll be missing is his KO shot, bwahaha!"

The spectators keep a ring of sorts, providing sort of a 15x15 feet circular arena. They'd prevent you from wandering off, until either one of you takes a nap or yields.

Maladash's up.

Maladash could FF, going along with the hide & seek, resulting in displaying the spectacle, eventually again. Or just keep knocking with 20% miss chance.
Maybe all the while screaming names at random, as he's a paladin of 'chaos'.

This is the answer to your trick, 1-1 ;)

I take that as the fast forward then. It seems Asterion's not undertaking action against the woman.
Though i do sort of agree with Mercutio, healing in a duel is...un duel-like :).

With the two duelists emerging from the dissipating mist, Maldash's bruises seem to have healed up.

-------GM's cutting the duel short, to FF to what's up--------

Maladash knocks out Mercutio.
Some excited half-orc: "HUAHAAA, pay up dwarf!"
Dwarf: *Grumbles*
Mercutio's being taken care of by a bar maid, who happens to be skilled in 1st aid.
---------------------------------

The figure steps in with an unusual grace, her boots' heels ticking on the wooden floor. Still hooded, and most of her arms hidden underneath a wide mantle, the voice of a young confident woman sounds.

"Well well....you're quite the hotshot, aren't you.
Calling the unfortunate a lowly ghoul, and healing yourself where he could not."

.......

What's your response, Maladash?

Dark Archive

Died heroically along with the paladin named Brayden Foxley battling with the revived Undead Lord and his skeleton minions.

Disagree. The spell of the first level in response to a first level spell. Either from the very beginning no need to search for loopholes and just fight with fists.

"Mind your business, woman. For this guy I am willing to risk my life, and I hope he will do the same for me. Anyway, to treat his wounds I already had. In short, it is our own business how we spend our time. And who the hell you are? I'd say the Abyss take you all - but it sounds like a compliment."

Without waiting for an answer, Maladash go to Mercutio and gives a short pray to some 'Lady in the Shadows'

Inflict: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

"After a short rest I am always willing to give you a second chance. Most importantly, use your mind as well as strength and song, and you must prevail. Har!! "

"Oh? Is that a challenge, honey? Because i'm all up for that."

"No. And you should not play with fire. You can burn yourself. Such duel I accept from friends. With the rest I either decide all in a conversation, or fight to death. I warn you, and don't suggest to cross the line. "

UPD Heard the words of his comrade, made almost simultaneously with his own, Maladash respectful looks at Asterion.

Mysterious grin

"Just traveling, i'll spare you the bothersome details.
I heard your boy here was comparing the other unfortunate to a rotting corpse. Ghouls are such disgusting creatures.
I usually don't bother, but i'd take personal offense too if i were addressed that way."

Asterion:

It could be you...but maybe her complexion is somewhat similar to Mercutio's?

"Then again...", she sizes both of you up. "i'd probably not even have a warming up fighting you two."

Murmers are starting, at the sight of the victorious half-orc now seemingly responding to the innuendo the mystery woman is dropping.

Mercutio, when you wake up:

You would clearly recognize kin by complexion, and she is to your guess very likely a dhampir.

"My apologies, madame, perhaps my friend here has not calmed down from his duel. Please, forgive his *hic* haste in assuming you are a threat." She looks like one of Mercutio's kind...

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Not quite on the DC.
Everyone can attempt diplomacy on her if they wish to influence her attitude positively.
Which was indifferent, before Maladash's bravery of battle (I declare challenge accepted!) came into the equation.

"I am if provoked, honey. I've no reason to be after you unless you join his side."

Btw, as Brayden declared himself drunk, he gets –2 penalty on all attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. :)

There was nothing at all wrong with when you cast divine favor earlier, or most other spells, but what Chyrone and I are saying is that healing, in the context of a nonlethal duel, is an entirely different animal, all the more so if your opponent can't.

Mercutio rises and accords Maladash a courtly bow. "Perhaps some other time. I underestimated you. Ashes to ashes, no hard feelings."

He then turns to this new individual.

Knowledge (Arcana) if that's at all helpful in recognizing her pendant: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Waiting to see what I get out of those before I determine what I say.

Mercutio:

While the pendant does not ring a bell of any nobility you have heard of, you do recall a story a retired monster hunter once told you long ago.

That while on a hunt, a portal opened and a duo of scholars, to his guess, wearing the insignia as a brouche. They declared themselves members of the Brimstone society, but you don't recall details of that name.

I understand you, guys. I took it as "do everything that is not forbidden" - and forbidden were only lethal blows. Perhaps you are right, sorry if a bit spoiled the fun. Let's put that at chaotic nature of Maladash .))

Before Mercutio goes to the mysterious lady:

"Well, I'm sorry for the ghoul. I meant no harm. As you say, no hard feelings. "

I'm wondering here, weither Maladash is doing this by himself, or if his player has caught on who's standing before them. :)

Maladash's words towards Mercutio seem to make her stand slightly more casual, as if the waiting for something was over.

Being up close, Mercutio could see the hint of canines through some of her words.
His own words aren't enough to sway her though.

But it doesn't get worse. If you fail by just 4 or less, nothing bad. 5 or more shifts attitude to worse.

Reply in Necril, or something like it:

"No need to go kiss my hand.
I'm just traveling. Suffice to say, it's refreshing that in these lands i don't have to hunt down my kind. Plus that my kind isn't all related here."

She appears serious though.

Last words in necril:

"Don't take any bull from anyone."

Neither one nor the other. Maladash deeply still. He just apologized to the comrade (the words were addressed to him, not to women), because a good fight - it's good, but long insult - it's really bad.

We know they were addressed to Mercutio, don't worry.
I'm not kidding, i actually briefly dreamt seeing Asterion and Maladash having made combat posts.
Some time ago, in another mission, with another of Asterion's aliases, they were at the final encounter, i dreamt the hasty sylph insulted her so much it'd turn into a fight. Much to my relief, in reality he didn't, and his alias ended the encounter with a hole in 1 diplomacy roll, not having it undone.
