Interaction of Dimensional slide with Dimensional feats

Rules Questions

Can you use the dimensional feats with the arcanist exploit Dimensional Slide?

No, it doesn't count as Dimension door, nor does it have language allowing it to be used with those feats.

Dimensional Slide is not Dimensional Door, and as such cannot be used with those feats. Dimensional Slide is actually better than Dimensional Door. It only counts as 5 feet of movement that does not provoke an AoO, and does not stop you from taking your other actions. With Dimensional Slide there is no need for Dimensional Agility.

If for some reason the arcanist wanted to take a full round action, like cast a FA+ spell, for whatever reason full attack, and so on, it does exclude them from doing so. Also as it is done as part of a move action to move, it would provoke, even if all the movement is only the extradimensional slide itself.

The description specifically states that it does not provoke an AoO, but any other movement used as part of the move does. It also states that it counts as 5 feet of movement so might be considered a 5 foot step.

Dimensional Slide (Su): The arcanist can expend 1 point from her arcane reservoir to create a dimensional crack that she can step through to reach another location. This ability is used as part of a move action or withdraw action, allowing her to move up to 10 feet per arcanist level to any location she can see. This counts as 5 feet of movement. She can only use this ability once per round. She does not provoke attacks of opportunity when moving in this way, but any other movement she attempts as part of her move action provokes as normal

“This ability is used as part of a move action or withdraw action”. This line prevents it from being used with a 5ft step. It is explicitly only available during a move action or withdraw action, two very specific actions. It doesn’t say “as part of an action to move” or “as part of a movement”, no it specifically says “as part of a move action or withdraw action”.

It still does not provoke an AoO. That was my main point.

The jump doesn't provoke, i.e. the straight line that you can see from the slide's start to destination, but in order for it to be a move action, you still have to be starting to move which would provoke no matter where you start. Basically you can't use it while adjacent to someone to avoid the leaving of their squares from provoking, but you can use it to completely bypass someone not next to you without provoking.

Not exactly. “Starting to move” does not provoke, it’s leaving a threatened square that provokes. And the exploit can be used as any part of your move, including at the very start of the move.

Moving out of a threatened square usually provokes attacks of opportunity from threatening opponents.

A 5th level arcanist with dimensional slide surrounded by adjacent enemies can decide to move. She starts by sliding 50 feet, which explicitly does not provoke. She then continues her move.
