Akiton Gravitation and Atmosphere

General Discussion

What's the story with Akitons 1/3 gravitation and thin atmosphere?
It's not mentioned in the Junker's Delight AP and nowhere can I read if the residents are affected by this.
Is everyone on the planet having breathing problems and can they jump around like mad? :D

The rules on thin/thick atsmospheres in the CRB say they apply to "nonacclimated" creatures. So the locals don't suffer. If your PCs are locals, the GM may decide they don't, either. Otherwise they're going to be fatigued or need to use Life Bubble or armor environment protections.

Yes to everone jumping and throwing things long distances.

In theory, the low gravity should also mean the residents are taller.

Even astronauts who spend a short time in microgravity end up taller (until they come back to Earth). Of course, then they should also have trouble when they hit Earth-like gravity (without aid).

If you want to dig into some fun science trivia (that the game doesn't touch on), high-pitched sounds are nearly inaudible on Akiton, while low-pitched sounds carry just fine.

Places this could go: Akitonian fauna probably exhibits distress via near-subsonic rumbling and growls rather than screeches or screams.

No coincidence that Skumka beats, a percussion-heavy musical genre, is currently eating up the charts. No one can hear your flutes or whistles!

Wish I had saved a link to it. Somewhere I read about high and low pitch sound on mars traveling at different speeds, which could lead to a delay-type effect. Natives might develop a more monotone speech to avoid the effect while taking advantage of it for singing.

I wondered why the effect of gravity was left out of Junkers Delight they had previously included it in Starfinder Society Scenario #1-02: Fugitive on the Red Planet.

"That means that if you were standing on Mars, listening to distant music, you would hear higher-pitched sounds before you would hear the lower-pitched ones."

Science! It's weird!

Should fit right in with Starfinder then :)

Sound in the drift could be really messed up, traveling at random speeds and distances.
