Strangler class and loss of Unarmed Strike question

Rules Questions

So a Strangler class lists that you lose Unarmed Strike and Brawler's Fury class features. Strangler

As listed in the Brawler class feature Unarmed Strike Class feature

So, doesn't this mean that the Strangler looses improved unarmed strike Feat in addition to the increased unarmed strike damage progression?

By raw, and I'm inclined to believe this is not an oversight, as even if you aren't a human, you can still take improved unarmed strike on your own and then use martial flexibility at level 1 to get improved grapple, to then lock that in at level 2.

Is it kinda feat tax heavy for something this late in Paizo's life cycle, yes, but it's not like there's really more than one way to play a strangler.

Yes. You do lose IUS and no longer qualify for Improved Grapple. I recommend stacking Strangler with Verdant Grappler so that you get Imp Grapple as a bonus feat at 2nd level.

Take Dirty Fighting rather than IUS after that. You'll get more mileage out of a Cestus or Armor Spikes than IUS without the scaling dmg.

I think my question is confusing.

If you look in the Brawler class feature for Unarmed Strike it says the Brawler gets an increase in unarmed damage progression as seen in the table above.

Is the damage dice progression for a Brawler part of the Unarmed Strike Class feature? If so, that would mean the Strangler loses out on all increased damage dice as he levels.
