Hey Friends!
Welcome to Recruitment for my 1st PF2e Campaign. I've done a number a 5e games; in-person, online, and pbp. I'm very excited to start DM'ing some PF2e.
Game:
PF2e; Age of Ashes AP
Group Type:
Online Play-by-Post using Discord.
Character sheets managed on Pathbuilder 2e.
4-Player Group Size
Experience:
New and Experienced players welcome. As with most play-by-post there will be a heavy emphasis on Roleplay so keep that in mind.
Engagement:
- 1 post / day at least 5 days / week. Obviously, more is preferred.
- During Combat, if a player doesn't post for more than 1 day, I will generally rule that they use the Delay action until they return. After 48 hours I'll attempt to bot the character.
- This is a long-term commitment. An AP, especially PBP, is a very long haul. Consider that before applying.
Character Creations:
- Download and Read The Players Guide for Age of Ashes
- Use Standard Character Creation from the Core Rulebook.
- Ancestries: Core and APG Only.
- Backgrounds from the Player's Guide encouraged, but not required.
- Alignment: Non-Evil
- Backstory: A paragraph or two will suffice, you don't have to write a novel.
- All players will be answering the Call of Heroes (info in the Players Guide)
- This is an ages 21+ table.
- Character Sheets will be managed using Pathbuilder.
How to Apply:
Fill out the New Player Application.
What I Expect:
- The long-term commitment to the AP. Again, APs are long adventures. I understand we can't promise years of our lives to a game, but if you're just looking for something casual for a few weeks. This probably isn't the table for you.
- Meeting the Engagement Expectations. If you don't have the time to write a longer post, write a shorter one. If you don't have the time to write a shorter one, post a brb in the OOC channel. If you lose interest and want to drop out, don't stress. Just let me know -- no hard feelings.
- Bring your Character to life. Roleplaying is the lifeblood of PbP. One-Liners are better than nothing. But
- Don't metagame. If your character doesn't know it, don't use it.
- Don't power game. Robust, flavorful, and flawed characters are more fun than dry, min-maxed, superheroes.
What You Can Expect:
- Well Experienced GM, with years of GM experience across multiple campaigns and parties.
- PF2e is new to me as a DM, so I will likely make mistakes. If so, don't hesitate to let me know and I'll correct it. Just remember to be kind.
- I GM a pretty RAW table, with the occasional house rule usually to improve the PbP experience.
- I don't cheat. I don't fudge rolls to save a PC. PC deaths happen, and it can be rough. Don't expect me to save your PCs from it's clutches.
- I highly encourage creative thinking and going in unexpected directions, but cool doesn't mean automatic success. However I generally reward flavor and drama over a min-maxed numbers strategy.
- I don't metagame. The BBEG doesn't know everything I know.
- Two Pre-Established House Rules. "2 and Go" and "Combat Delay

@crazncanuck: out of curiosity, where do you usually lurk for PBP games?
I have applied for this campaign
I generally lurked in Myth Weavers, plus a few other places, usually on Discord. DnD5e was my main gaming go to for the last while, but I've been looking for something else now that support for it seems to be winding down.
I've always avoided Pathfinder before because 1e was too scarily bloated by the time I got into gaming back when. But now that 2e has been around and gotten past the initial release phase, and seems to have had a little time to release a fair bit of variety, I figured I'm finally confident enough to try it.
Although, I don't know if I just happened to get in at a relative lull, but there's been very sparse PbP postings anywhere I normally look for games.

If any of you are interested and still want to play AoA, then I have a recruitment for AoA on pbp currently open (closes next Sunday). I see a few of you had applied already! :)
We will be using discord for OOC etc but not for gameplay. I do find that discord really helps keep a group together though!
