Selecting the same ability multiple times, Animate objects

Rules Questions

Hey im hoping to make an animated object with a future character.

So my question is can i select the same ability multiple times with craft construct
for example

Additional Attack (Ex, 1 CP): Gains an additional slam attack.

or

Faster (Ex, 1 CP): One of the object’s movement modes increases by +10 ft.

I cannot find a rule against it on the animate objects page.
But there is the fact that other abilities specify that they can stack

Burn (Ex, 1 CP): : The object gains burn (1d6) with its slam attacks. This can be applied multiple times. Its effects stack

but these abilities are either ones that normally cant stack (such as changing the material) or from different sources where it could be a clarification.

so my question is could i take additional attack 3 times to make a construct with 4 slams? or a flying object with a ridiculous speed for traveling?

I've looked up the animate objects spell, but I can't find burn anywhere. Where did you find it?

If its your game, then why not allow object abilities to be picked multiple times? I don't think it would cause any harm.

A question from me. Reading the spell, I'm not sure how an object would get more cp than they are normally allowed.

Animated Object Abilities has Burn and Faster.

To answer the question, no, you may not give the construct Additional Slam Attacks after the first time you select Additional Attack, you can only select it once. I couldn't find where it explicitly says this in the building rules, but I can provide an example for it in the some of highest CR Constructs that have Slam Attacks . Here's Another high CR Construct with only 2 slams. Same goes for Faster, you can only select it once. You can only take a particular ability multiple times if it says so in the ability's description, such as Additional Natural Attack, Resistance, or Burn. They do this for balance reasons because there are a couple of abilities that perform the ability during one of your Slams to do something additional, such as Trip + Slam, Grab + Slam, Constrict + Slam, etc. If a construct had 4-5 Slams, they could do waaaay too many of these Slam+ xxxx abilities in a single round to be considered balanced. When you do a Slam, you're grabbing both hands together and performing one of the patented 1960's Star Trek Capt Kirk double handed fist ball strikes, so it does far more damage than a regular melee attack or natural attack, so consider the Adamantine Golem that deals 6d10+13 19–20 on each of its two slams. Imagine if this construct had 4-5 Slams, that's insane, if you had 5 slams, that would be a potential 15d10+65 damage per round. Also, just imagine how unbalanced a Construct would be if you could take Augmented Critical multiple times, you could probably end up with a 15-20/x4 Critical Threat Range/Multiplier if you really wanted to, and this would break your game.

As far as making a Construct faster, you can take the Faster quality for 1 CP, and then spend a crapton of gold modifying him with this:

Quote:

Movement Modification: This modification improves a construct’s existing movement. This modification can improve a construct’s land speed, increasing the speed by 10 feet, up to a total speed equal to double its original land speed. Each 10-foot improvement costs 2,000 gp. Constructs with a climb or swim speed can improve these speeds by 10 feet, up to a total speed equal to double the original speed, at a cost of 3,000 gp per 10-foot improvement. Constructs with a fly speed can improve these speeds by 10 feet, up to a total speed equal to double the original speed, at a cost of 4,000 gp per 10-foot improvement.

Constructs can also gain new means of locomotion with this modification. A construct can gain a climb or swim speed of 15 feet at a cost of 6,000 gp. A construct can gain a fly speed of 15 feet at a cost of 8,000 gp so long as it has at least 5 Hit Dice. A Tiny or smaller construct gains a maneuverability of good, a Medium or Small construct gains a maneuverability of average, a Large or Huge construct gains a maneuverability of poor, and Gargantuan or larger constructs gain a maneuverability of clumsy.

^----- This is found on Craft Construct page.

If you're wanting a fast-flying construct that gets a lot of attacks though, I would go the Natural Attack route and consider making a dragon construct with lots of Natural Attacks or making a Construct that wields a weapon.

Also, check out Building and Modifying Constructs for additional rules.

i thought so thank you. I'm a player trying to figure out how to make a construct replace my character without trowing off balance. knowing the limits of animate objects can will help alot thank you.

Burn is from The Haunting of Harrowstone pathfinder adventure path 43

i've read most of the rules on construct so i can make a character thats a full time crafter while a construct replaces him in the party composition.
