Glimpse weakness count.

Rules Discussion

Can you have multiple glimpse weakness casts active at once? And if so, can you have multiple on the same target?

Yes and No.

When you’re affected by the same thing multiple times, only one instance applies, using the higher level of the effects, or the newer effect if the two are the same level. For example, if you were using mage armor and then cast it again, you’d still benefit from only one casting of that spell. Casting a spell again on the same target might get you a better duration or effect if it were cast at a higher level the second time, but otherwise doing so gives you no advantage.

But there's nothing about Glimpse Weakness ending itself if you cast it again or anything that otherwise prevents you from casting it multiple times.

No, not on the same target.

You couldn't even use multiple castings on the same target successively because the spell ends - all instances of it - the first time an ally hits.

I don't see anything preventing casting it on multiple targets though.

Or even multiple times in one round. :glares enviously:

So, would the duplicate rule prevent 2 thaumaturges to use the same ability on a creature?

I don't think so. It's not exactly an effect that's on the target. It's an ability of the Thaumaturges themselves which work against a specific target of their choice.

Otherwise, you'd have similar problems with Hunt Prey or other abilities.

Got it. Forgot about duplicate effects for a moment.
