What happens when a magical melee weapon with the Throwing special weapon ability gets enchanted with the Furious special weapon ability?
Does Furious (which can only be applied to melee weapons) still work when the weapon is thrown?
Also is a melee weapon with Throwing considered a melee weapon or a range weapon for the purpose of feats etc, when it is thrown?
For example, does works with power attacks? Or deadly aim?

Generally, it's what you are specifically doing with a weapon that determines what feats and abilities apply. A thrown attack is considered a ranged attack. Therefore all feats that work with ranged attacks (like Deadly Aim) would work and feats that only work with melee attacks (like Power Attack) would not.
In the specific case of furious, it's a toss-up. I'd personally say that it would not apply when thrown, but I'm sure many will vehemently disagree. You can parse the language multiple ways but it all comes down to whether you consider the weapon to still be a melee weapon when it is thrown.

When the wielder is raging or under the effect of a rage spell, the weapon’s enhancement bonus is +2 better than normal.
Activation: Usually a character benefits from a magic weapon in the same way a character benefits from a mundane weapon—by wielding (attacking with) it.
Besides what Belafon said, we have the usual problem with "wielding" something. You are attacking with the thrown weapon, but you aren't holding it. Are you wielding it?
As the ability isn't on the list for ranged weapons, I would say the power doesn't apply when the weapon is thrown.

DESCRIPTION
This special ability can only be placed on melee weapons.
A furious weapon serves as a focus for its wielder’s anger. When the wielder is raging or under the effect of a rage spell, the weapon’s enhancement bonus is +2 better than normal. If the wielder has a rage power that gives a skill bonus while raging (such as raging climber, raging leaper, or raging swimmer), the wielder gains an enhancement bonus to that skill whenever the weapon is wielded or held in her hand, even when she is not raging. This bonus is equal to the enhancement bonus of the weapon (and also includes the +2 if the wielder is raging).
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Craft Magic Arms and Armor; Spells rage; Cost +1 bonus
You can enchant a melee weapon with Furious and then throw it, but the furious enchant will have no effect while the weapon is thrown. You have to be swinging it in melee for the Furious enchant to work.
