Kineticists that are not kineticists

Kineticist Class

Not sure if this is the best place for it, but I couldn't think of where else it would fit.

What are some cool character concepts that the kineticist class supports mechanically, but not conceptually? In short, how might you reflavor your character while retaining the mechanics? Let's brainstorm! :)

I'll start with an example of what I mean: I for one was envisioning an advanced android from Numeria that didn't draw from the elemental planes (or an inner gate), but rather from their own ancient alien power core and nanomachines. A duel gate kineticist (at least mechanically) specializing in earth and fire. Most of the earth abilities would be represented by super strength and their transformative nanomachines. For example, instead of Gather Element, they would Recall Nanomachines. Instead of a floating shield of earth, Stone Shield would be more like Iron Man turning his arm into a shield. Instead of Tremor being a manipulation of the earth, it would be a result of a shockwave created by a brute strength strike against the ground. Most of the fire abilities would be represented by things like rocket feet, laser eyes, Mega Man-style arm fireball emitter, and similar energy blasts and projections.

In many respects, I suppose it would be a lot like late-stage MCU Iron Man, Marvel's Apocalypse, or DC's Cyborg.

What sorts of odd-ball ideas do you have?

A universal gate that is actually just the maelstrom. Chaos mage. Make them a ganzi and you're good to go.

A gate of a metal kineticist that is just a complicated conjuration spell put on him connecting his hands to a nation's armory. Only takes elemental weapon for every feat. Terrible idea but he doesn't have magic powers. Just the weapons.

I fire lily Leshy that actually a FIRE lily leshy. A fetchling that summons Dark Winds from the shadow plane. A drowned skeleton that always drips water. A draxi sprite that channels the power of their dragon heritage and the power of the first world to summon 4 elements. A Melixie Sprite that summons insects for her wind powers. A Ghost Poppet of a pyromaniac that uses ghost fire. A Fleshwarp that has parts literally match his elements. A set of goblins, the Charhide Goblin whose flame smell and crackle like lit blackpowder, the Snow Goblin who always has snow in their hair and leaves frozen footprints and Treedweller Goblin wood element that's covered in leaves. An automaton's core draws on planar energy so that one is easy. A tengu who's gathered wind by summoning a fan.

Part of the reason I want cold damage on Elemental Blasts is so that I can do a Frozen Winds Kitsune whose “Kineticist” powers are just an extension of their natural Foxfire abilities.

Automaton Earth/Fire Dual, with the sharpshooter heritage. His blasts are his autocannon firing, and many of his Impulses are equally mechanical in nature.

A fire/water kineticist automaton whose powers are just steam powered.

Leshies, Ghorans, and (hopefully someday) Wyrwoods might all do this when the final class adds Wood Kineticists.

A skeletal metallokineticist whose abilities are all flavored around the weapons stuck through their metal-riddled and war-torn body.

He'd have to take elemental weapon if you want to use Automaton Aim [it specifies weapon].

Who cares? It’s not like I’ll actually play this, given how the class turned out.

Hopefully! Leshies had a great racial archetype using wood kinesis that I would love to see updated PF2 via class feats and impulses.

I’d also love to see the Petal Ninja come back for Ghorans again, too.

Just pointing it out in case someone thinks 'that's cool' and goes off to build it. ;)

Hmmm.. You could go off of seedpod and reflavor gather elements into growing elemental seeds in your hand that you fire off for your abilities.

Please don’t respond with that to me.

As I’ve mentioned before, “;)” makes you seem more sarcastic and combative, not less.

Edit: Unless of course it is your intention to express sarcasm, in which case never mind.

Sorry but I use that to show tone in text and for me that means that it's in a smile and a wink. I don't know of a better way to express it in text. I use it everywhere so I don't think I'll recall that you personally dislike it so I'll say in advance sorry if i use it with you in the future. What emoji would you suggest to show it wasn't meant to be nitpicky/pedantic?

I'd love to play a Tiefling Fire/Earth Dual Gate with a focus not on Elemental magma but on Hellish brimstone, ideally with some Acidic sulphur and Poisonous smoke abilities if that's possible. Would also work as a Reaction Vanguard in Starfinder, but I'd really like to do it in this system because Tieflings have so many more options.

Having an actual gate to Hell in one's soul would also offer some delicious roleplaying opportunities, because that makes the usual Tiefling struggle way more intense and in-the-room, if that makes sense. I'd be trying to be a good person, and drawing on the literal powers of Hell to do so. Is using my only applicable skill an Evil action? Am I worsening the world in ways I cannot understand by using the only hammer in the box to fight all these nails? Obviously, one would hope that the answer is "no" or at least "yes, but there are ways not to", but I'd be comfortable leaving that up to the GM to surprise me with.

Perhaps being a Tiefling would be the result of such a gate rather than its cause, and my character has watched their body warp and shift under the Hellish influence of their own power... We have options!

To venture a touch beyond reflavouring, I'd also ask the GM if we could just switch that pesky "Primal" trait over to "Divine", but that's a minor detail that wouldn't hugely impact the character overall either way.

An Android with dual air/water kineticism.
He was created to infiltrate a tribe with strong ties to nature and eventually realised the beauty of their way of life, finding his way into their community as a permanent member.
He's also in 3D.
