Two-handed trait and thrown weapon

Rules Discussion

I wonder, does it work or not?

Should, nothing in the description of the two-hand trait limits it to melee attacks.

Technically true, but no 2-hand weapons also have the thrown trait, so it falls into improvised weapon when thrown.

I think there's an ability which allows you to throw non-throwing melee weapons, but I believe that it's limited to a subset of weapons, i.e. one-handed (maybe other traits too?).
Or at least that's what I recall from the last thread like this, where technically the weapon qualified because it was one-handed, but then the person wanted to throw it two-handed (w/ the supposition that it still qualifies as a one-handed weapon at its core).
To me that's just shenanigans where the two wouldn't interact.

The obvious use case here is the bounding spirit soulforger power, which has no such restriction. No reason throwing a bastard sword with both hands wouldn't give you the d12.

Dwarven War Axe + Axe Thrower feat. Gives you a 1d12 weapon with a throw of 10'.

PS: also Everstand Stance and Throwing Shield or Shield Augmentation.

I was thinking about a weapon innovation Trident with damage enhancer and two handed trait ( to get a 1d12 thrown weapon).

That works too. ;)

To play devil’s advocate, the two-hand trait does say that the damage die increase only happens when the weapon is held in two hands. Since a weapon that is being thrown is held in no hands as soon as you throw it, it probably reverts back to the one-handed damage die.

That is a fairly open reading of Axe Thrower as that feat requires a one handed axe. Many GMs will only allow that to work only when you are holding the Dwarven Axe in one hand.

Yeah the Dwarven War Axe is a two handed weapon when you wield it in two hands. Can't throw.
