Nichelle Nichols, Uhura in ‘Star Trek,’ Dies at 89
So very sad to hear this news. She was (and always will be) a legend! Rest In Peace.

She was an amazing person. A pioneer in every sense of the word. Also, my first crush...lol.

This hits hard. I remember watching her on tv from early days. I had the pleasure of seeing her talk at a convention many years ago. Smart, charming, kind, with a great sense of fun. I wish I could share a specific story from that convention, but I don't remember she said, I just remember her presence in the room and just knowing I was in the same space as a remarkable and very warm, lovely person.
