Monk build based on Evelyn from Everything Everywhere All at Once?

Advice

I want to build a monk off the character from the movie. I'm pretty new to the game so a bit clueless.
Anyone want to take a stab at it? Thanks!

Which aspects draw you most to the character?

She'd probably best be served by having some kind of stance dancer build. Which is unfortunately fairly high level; you're going to want to pick up Stance Savant and Master of Many Styles to be able to emulate her ability to switch between ability sets.

The new Chrono skimmer archetype from Dark Archive fits well enough.

I'm sure that all of the enemies will want to take a stab at it too. And quite a bit of the time, they will succeed. So manage your expectations.

There have been a lot of people who have tried to create a solo hero, main character, anime replica and have not been happy with the results. This is a team-based story telling game. Not an anime simulator.

Wow, it was just a brain teaser for fun. I saw an older thread where people came up with 100 monk builds and was building off of that. People like you who take this all too seriously really ruin these games... keyword: games. Also, I find it racist of you to call out anime.

Well OK then. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'll take my warnings elsewhere then.

Going 18 str/16 dex probably gives you access to the most stances since you can get the strength ones as well. You also should get some of the weird stances like Jellyfish Stance

So I think you definitely want Human as the ancestry, not only visually but Natural Ambition lets you get more stances early. I also really like the chronoskimmer suggestion even if it is based more on time than dimensions. The capstone feat definitily should use fuse stance.

If you want to emulate the "Do something weird to gain powers", I'd take a free archtype to Swashbuckling to get panache. Then with appropriate feats you could gain fancy powers while having panache.
