Would it inbalance anything if i switched fae bloodline and fae eidolon to occult

As the topic says it has always kind of bothered me that fae are linked to the primal tradition, but the primal tradition is arguably the worst for doing fae-stule magic, no invisibility, no suggestions, they get charm at least but thats kind of it, so when you make a fae themed character i think the occult list would be a better fit, do you guys think that would cause any problems?

Not much. Traditions are supposed to be equivalent. Truth be said, they aren't, but in the great scheme of the game such a change is not supposed to break anything.

Yeah, as for balance, it shouldn't make much difference.

It will take a bit of work to pick appropriate Bloodline granted spell slot spells. If you let the player do it they are just going to pick the best-of-the-best options in the tradition list rather than the thematically appropriate ones. That will be a bit unbalancing.

It would probably be more fitting to give them occult spells with a selection of primal spells for the bloodline.

For what it's worth, the Fey Eidolon probably doesn't need the switch since it's level 1 ability is Fey Gifts granting it all of the enchantment and illusion spells from the arcane list.

I tend to agree with breithauptclan and Captain Morgan that if you swap the Fey bloodline to be occult, you'll need to / probably should rework their spells granted. The Fey and Nymph bloodlines already grant a good number of illusion/enchantment spells which makes them more rounded than other primal casters so I'm not sure how specifically necessary a full swap is, but you can certainly do it.

Yeah, getting that giant list of Arcane spells for free (plus your eidolon can start slotting them to use with your DC at higher levels for more casts per day) is plenty to capture the trickstery aspects for it.

Getting all Primal spells plus all illusion and enchantment spells from the Arcane list means you can do nearly anything. It's easily the best spell selection in the game, and lets you lean into any concept of fae you feel appropriate.

Yes, it's best selection IMO even than druid with Fey Caller.

Actually would Arcane make more sense than occult? It covers a lot of mental tricky stuff while also giving you the elemental goodness to feel nature-y. I can't think of many fey using spells exclusive to the occult list. Throw in a couple woodsy primal only spells from the bloodline and you're in pretty good shape.

Mechanically, yes, the Arcane makes more sense than occult for holidays. But thematically no. Especially evil fairies makes way more sense using occult tradition than arcane.

But as already show before the current way that fairies eidolons works does better, fairies are mainly primal but also uses illusion and enchantment. This fits better in their themes than any isolated school.

Sometimes I think how could be if the same was done to the clerics. If instead of taking 3 spells from another tradition they take a school from another tradition based in their deity instead.

Fey and Nymph sorcerers are still in a bind though.
