Do all consumables refresh after an adventure?
I am looking at buying a Potion of Invisibility, would that allow once a game?

Second, how many consumables does your school provide at the start of an adventure? A fifth level PC gets only one like a first level?

Also note that a potion of Invisibility is Uncommon, so you would need something like a Chronicle Sheet or Boon that opens up Access before you can purchase one.

Consumable: "An item with this trait can be used only once. Unless stated otherwise, it's destroyed after activation."

One or more, depending on the chart. All Level 1 characters get access to only one item, but a Level 3 character belonging to either Scrolls, Spells or Swords could get two Minor Healing Potions, if they wished.

But the Invisibility Potion is available from School training for generalists level 7-8?

I don't think that opens the potion to purchase.

Homunculus23 mentioned buying one, so I wanted to explain the requirements to do so.

Also looks like the website must have glitched when I last posted, because my posts are out of order.

The Mosquito Witch, 1-03, allows an Invisibility Potion to be bought for 40 gp.
Wondering if it "refreshes" after each adventure.

Nope. A consumable is used up after it is used.

But, that would be one method of accessing such an item for purchase.

I'm wondering if the OP is referring to the items you get at character creation as mentioned here.

These items are one time gifts and you don't get them again between adventures.

Or keep them if you don't use them.

There's more than one question to tease out.

Do School Consumables refresh? Yes.
How many do you get? One unless you're taking one of the Healing Potion options that grants two.
Do consumables refresh in general? No.
How do you get things listed on the chronicle? Your character must purchase them like normal.

I think the OP is asking about school items, not purchases with currency. That’s how I read it at least, because they talk about “Schools.”

I am asking two different questions, one about purchased items and one about school items

No consumable refreshes. All are use once and they're are gone.

The items granted from the school choice are 'use or lose' over the course of the scenario. Your choice of what to take refreshes every scenario -- ie what you take on your first scenario has no bearing on what you take on your second, etc.

In addition to everything else that's been covered, sometimes you'll see an item on a Chronicle Sheet that is limited, such as "(limit 1)" or "(limit 5)".

That means once you've purchased that number of items, the Chronicle can no longer be used for Access. You would need another means of purchasing that item again.

Additionally, you cannot use Crafting to Reverse Engineer the Formula for such an item.

I don't have chronicle handy. Does it limit the number of times the potion can be purchased?

Additionally, using the term "refresh" is confusing. School item clearly say they have to be turned if not used.

As others have stated, a purchased potion stays with the character until it is consumed or sold.

No, it does not.

What about items not tagged as a consumable. The cantrip deck for example.

It's not "consumable" because that would exhaust it after a single use.

Instead it's got some number of cards based on which one you buy.

Did the table of consumables change sometime? I remember the Generalist getting access to a little more healing than the default option, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

So... Funny thing. With the exception of one level, the generalist's healing option was *always* better than the "Default" option, such that there was no reason a generalist would ever take the default option over the generalists healing. (There is one level where they get to pick between 2 minor potions or one lesser, IIRC so which is better is kind of situational.)

So we just made the generalists healing option their default.

If you compare the generalists "default" column, to everyone else's "Default" column, you will see that it is *slightly* better.

It just kind of looked silly to have "By default, you get 1 lesser healing potion. Or you can chose to take 2 lesser healing potions."

It also opened up the annoying possibility of a GM saying "You didn't *say* you took the 2 healing potion option, so you only get 1."

It also made the list 8 lines shorter. :)

Ahh, thank you for the explanation.
