Hi all,
Returning to Starfinder after a hiatus and need clarification on rules. Specifically, the Soldier class fighting style - Blitz lvl feature Rapid Response (Ex) found on pg. 113 in the CRB.
Is Rapid Response (Ex) an "ability" that has to be activated, or is it considered "always on" like improved initiative? I ask b/c pg. 262 states the following in regard to (Ex) abilities:
"The text of an extraordinary ability indicates what type of action is required to use it, as well as how often the creature can use it. If an extraordinary ability doesn’t specify what type of action is required to activate it, it requires a standard action."
If Rapid Response (Ex) is not an ability, then what is the purpose/in game effect of it having (Ex)?
