I agree 100% that a god of inspiration is most likely chaotic.

And while I agree that order vs chaos in scientific research is going to depend on the individual, my view is that good scientists are going to tend towards order such that if you look at all science being done as an aggregate its going to be strongly towards order and not chaos.

Oddly enough, there WAS such an aspirant at one point, though she was an elf instead of a goblin: Thaldei, former student of Artokus Kirran and would-be goddess of explosive alchemy! She attempted to elven-cannonball herself across the chasm, but unfortunately made a grave miscalculation on the amount of alchemical components. She DID make it across...but landed in multiple pieces.
